Coming out to those you NEED to feels so liberating, and when they accept & support you its amazing.
:)

Im excited to be addressed as my chosen name by yet another person.

On a side note, I just saw the episodes about Adam being outted... with my mom!... I hope she puts two-and-two together, she even compared me and her to Adam and his mom when they were shopping. But she kept referring to him as she/her.
:(

Things are slowly coming together, and im hoping I don't jinx myself here.
:/

Just thought id share my excitement with you guys.

Im not sure she would ever quite understand, but I guess its understanding... having things one way for so long, viewing someone a certain way, then having to change it completely... im not sure anyone could fully do that, I expect it to take at least a few years... like when Adam asked his mother what does she see when she looks at him, is it a boy or a girl... I mean I feel everyone from my past will always see me as a female, and it sucks.

I did for awhile too, but I was surprised. Perhaps when you are treated more correctly (well, hopefully your parents and friends can understand) you won't feel that way. It's not a nice feeling.

Congrats!

That's disappointing about your mother - but she'll come around eventually.

Everything takes time to get used to and people take time to adjust. My girlfriend's mother is still adjusting to her daughter not being heterosexual and dating boys. And she came out almost 4 years ago. But, a lot has changed in those 4 years - her mother will actually talk to me now, she used to completely ignore me, and even went so far as to make the both of us dinner one night when we visited.

Though - People are generally more accepting that we believe them to be. I've had a lot of people surprise me, especially when it comes to FTM issues.

That's my experience, and with luck (to OP) it will be yours too. When you come out, be positive and patient. It helps.
