A farmer in Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang Province, Yuan Wenlian was startled recently to find that one of her two 7-year-old hens (pictured) was changing gender and beginning to crow after six years of laying eggs. The hen has also grown a red cockscomb and its feathers and feet have changed appearance.
