PolarBear

181 cm, or 5' 11" if you prefer.
Quite tall for a female bodied person, if I see the other responses. I would have been even taller, but I have had hormone treatment to prevent that. (Would have been 2.06 meters, or 6' 9"  :o
Ah, Holland, home to the tallest people on the planet. (Yes, we've taken over from the Norwegians, who held the record for quite a long while).

One of my cousins who is thirteen is already my height lol...

It's really depressing not being able to wear heels when I'm out and
don't want to be noticed.

I find I'm constantly judging my height against other women around me.

What I have discovered is that slim girls look a lot taller than they really
are, but if someone is tall but in proportion, it's difficult to judge their
height until you are really close up.

So I actually don't try to slim down too much, and work on balancing my
body shape without worrying too much about dress size.

OK... I'm paranoid...or maybe it's the lack of oxygen up here!.... ::)

My 16yr American niece is 5'11", 155lbs, same as I PolarBear, being a quite beautiful athletic girl I'd say don't sweat it, be proud!

:icon_bunch:
Oh, I really don't mind that I am this tall. It has several advantages, such as being able to look over shelves in stores to find my mother, who is tall as well.  ;)
When I grew up I didn't mind it either, it was something special about me that no one else had. Plus people always thought I was older than I really was, which had its advantages as well.  >:D

And while I am a tall female, should I decide I am really male, I fit right in with the rest of 'em!

Just under 5'3". I'm hoping I'll stop at 5'4" or 5'5" if I'm lucky. In a perfect world I'd make it to 5'6" or 5'8", but I know that's not going to happen.

It's unfortunate. My doctors say my body is too young for T. I'm 18. It's like they want my growth plates to close before I start. Is there really any risk in that extra growth spurt?

I'm 4'11". Unfortunately. If it were up to me I'd be a respectable height--at least 5'2", up to 5'6" maybe. Wouldn't want to tower over anyone, but... *sigh* I'd like to tower over SOME people. x/ I've given up on growing.

The last time that my height was taken by my doctor, it was 5'  6 1/2"

I wish that my weight would cooperate! Pre HRT, I was a size 11 jean.  Now, I can kinda wear size 13. Kinda. I'd rather look cute than breathe!!!

Nero

5'5. typical female height.  :P
Nero was the Forum Admin here at Susan's Place for several years up to the time of his death.

I am 6'1 and weigh 172. I have noticed that there are a lot of GG here in MN/WI that are as tall or taller than me. I went out last night to a couple of bars and noticed that about 10% of the girls out last night we as tall as myself. I also noticed that they like myself were wearing flats and not heels.

Dude, time to get new doctors, one's that aren't idiots.  Worse thing that happens if you are not finished growing and start "T" is that you'll grow a bit more.  The Sooner you start on HRT of whatever kind, the better off you will be...  18?  Damn, that's MORE than old enough to start "T" slowly and work your way up!  Seriously, find a new doctor, this one sounds like a throw back...  I know a few FTM's in PA who started "T" younger than you are, and they are fine.  Growth to stop, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard of in my life!

Get a second opinion, really.  Like from a Doctor that has actually helped some folks transition and knows what the frak he's talking about.  This one is just taking your money and wasting your time...

Thank you, greeneyegirl. My thoughts are very similar. I'll be pushing my needs when the time is right... right now isn't the time to start because I have so much going on. I have to wait for an opening.

Now, my medical doctor doesn't say I'm too young. But she isn't the one that approves T. The psychologists do, and they're the ones that think I'm too young... ugh. Well, one of them said that. I have psychiatrist who wants me to address anxiety, but she also said that GID causes me more stress (implying that transition would be good for me). None of them doubt that I'm GID, but they seem to be pulling my chain. I'm seeing a new therapist in September and to him I will voice my concerns...

I've been on HRT now for just over four years.  Pre HRT I was a solid 6 feet, sometimes a little bit more.  Now, I'm 5'10" so without question I've lost 2 full inches.

People of any gender start to lose height after a certain age to what they call microfractures.  In MTF persons, HRT ushers in a new age for the body, and almost always means a lose of some height.  Again, near as anyone can figure, microfractures...

I know plenty of women like myself who've lose a inch or two...  All I can say in my case, is rock on!  Though to be honest, height was always the least of my worries, because I know plenty of natals who tower over me easily.  One of my good friends is 6'3" in bare feet, and is a big girl.  I feel like a shrimp when she gives me a hug.  Post transition she can wrap her arms around me and rest her chin on my head.  She is so totally the text book Norse Goddess figure...

Ah, that makes things that much more clear...  Why though are you letting a psychologist push you around?  This one is an IDIOT, that much is obvious.  This one probably thinks Zucker, Blanchard and Bailey are visionaries, the "The Clark" in Canada an institution of sanity and reality.

Yeah, time to get a new psychologist, and if that doesn't work, do an...  What do they call it in football?  Ah, yes, and end run around them.   The harm reduction model says that if you start HRT on your own, they cannot tell you NO YOU MUST STOP, instead they give you scripts and monitor you like they are supposed to.

Just a thought...
