I am currently 8 weeks post op from a DI with nipple grafts.  Everything seems to be healed up nicely and all, but my areolae have strange coloration patterns.  They are a tan-brown color on the outer edges with light pink on the inside and the nipples are a slightly darker pink.

Question time:

Is it abnormal for my areolae to be multicolored like this at this point in the healing process (or at all)?
If this is normal, does it ever go away so that the areolae are uniform in color?
If they do eventually become uniform in color, how long is that expected to take?

I'm pretty sure it's normal.  The area right around my nipple is still a lot darker than the rest of the areola and I'm 8 months post op.. I was concerned about it because it seems like a long time to still be this color but when I saw my surgeon 2 months ago he said not to worry about it and that it should become normal color eventually.  So apparently it does go away but how long it takes varies a lot I think.

I'm 18 months out and my nipples look like the Target logo.
