Why Would You Make Life Harder For Yourself?

This is perhaps the most common deterrent my family tried to push on me in their attempts to avert my transition, and it continues to crop up from time to time, especially from Dad. That, and the issue of happiness. Apparently, I am doomed to be a miserable failure wallowing in the despair of my own self-imposed demise.

Alas that this attitude is merely half-wrong.

Throughout this transition and prior I pondered the potential difficulties, to the best of my inexperienced abilities, and weighed them against the growing angst inside of me. And I will admit, I entered into transition with a shadow of trepidation lingering in my mind. Part of me didn't quite want to transition, the part of me that cringes at overt '->-bleeped-<-s' and their sometimes overt and mildly tragic  attempts at femininity.
