TRANSGENDER FILM: For Friday night's Boston premiere and subsequent showings of her latest documentary, "Thy Will Be Done: A Transsexual Woman's Journey Through Family and Faith,'' Alice Dungan Bouvrie said she expects the audience to include members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender, and religious communities. However, the Arlington resident also said she hopes that the mainstream public is represented as well.

"They're the ones who don't really grapple too much with these issues,'' she said. "Sometimes when something isn't on your radar screen, it should be.''

The 55-minute film follows Waltham resident Sara Herwig, a male-to-female transsexual, in her efforts over the last eight years to become an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church.
