Sorry about this, already posted in the transgender portion.

Um, i'm a 20 yearold hospital corpsman. I've always felt different, but never really understood. It took alot of introspection, but i truly feel i'm a girl. I just hope i can convince everyone else.

Oh, and please read my post "At a crossroads", i really need advice in this area.

Welcome to Susan's. Lots of introspection? Just the tip of the iceberg. Convincing everybody else? I wouldn't worry about that too much right now. For now explore your feelings and express yourself here at Susan's. Lots of wonderful, helpfull people here who thrive on helping others.

Be sure to check out the Wiki. You'll find lots of info there that wil help you in your journey of self discovery. Take your time, transitioning is a slow process and you may just find there are a lot of firsts steps that don't require anyone knowing whome you don't want to. So fix yourself a cup of tea or other relaxing beverage, sit down, take your shoes off and set a spell.

Wow.  It must be something to do with the rate LOL.

I was a Navy Corpsman as well, I spent 5 years in.  3 Years was with the Marine Corps (after FMSS).

I was also really interested to learn that Calpernia Addams http://www.calpernia.com/aboutme/ was a Hospital Corpsman as well. 

I think I would echo that advice, and even go a step further.  If I were you I would start counseling, but have nothing to do with anyone / anything in the military concerning this matter.  Go outside of the military for counselling and pay for it out of your pocket.  Don't tell anyone in the military you are going to a civillian counselor though.  The civillian counselors are bound by the privacy act and are not allowed to disclose anything unless they are court ordered or they believe your life is in danger.  So don't mention suicide or anything to do with suicide either.  The military counselor's / psychologists are not bound by that same privacy act and can take steps to have you discharged from active duty.
