During this gift giving season, does your gender have any relation to what kinds of gifts you would love to receive.

In the past, she (GF) has giving me a mixture of jewelry, computer stuff, clothes (male and female).

My mother prefers to give electronics or handmade (knitted) gifts.

What gifts do you prefer and do any have a relationship to your gender?

If you dont celebrate the seasons with gifts or receive any gifts you can also talk about why you prefer or dont believe in gifts.

The gifts I (reluctantly) ask for are usually related to my hobbies like video production or maybe video gaming. Kinda neutral in what I tell people to get for me. Anything more personal I can get for myself. :)

I would like a drill, a biscuit joiner, planer, jointer, and a large bandsaw. Wouldn't have room for them if I did get them though, except the drill and biscuit joiner.

Hmm. Maybe I'm doing this backwards. I should ask for a bigger shop first.

I like feminine clothing both outer and under things, jewlery and computer stuff. Oh scifi books and old scifi movies on DVD. Also a calmer spirit would be welcome. Oh an I love feminine style boots, leather or suede too. Oh did I mention jewlery and feminine clothing can have to much of it.
I guess these are gifts for an androgynes person because I am one.

Personally I have recieved everything from jewelry to electronics.
My one suggestion is to ask.  We are all a little differant.
I would suggest music or books, but do so having some knowledge of the persons taste and collection.
Also you can never go wrong with high quality wine. Unless of course the person does not drink.
Also personal gifts are not bad, niether are really nice scarfs if you live in cold weather states.

You know, I'm not really sure how what I like relates to my gender. It must be that gender myopia again.  "Umm, doesn't everybody like everything?", beyond certain stereotypical things that is. But maybe that's how it relates. The things I like that are "male" aren't necessarily for the expected reasons, and most of the things I like tend to be more unisex in their appeal.

Don't really have anyone buying me mixed gender gifts, but if so, I would probably want clothing (male and female), jewelry (what even part-girl doesn't?), and perfume/cologne (again, both male and female).  Scented candles are always nice too.

The big surprise this year is what I find myself buying for others.  Since I quit fighting and accepted my femininity, the gifts I have bought so far are much more personal (and thoughtful) than I have purchased in the years before.  Texas Hot Sauce for my brother-in-law who loves the spice, but is an Okie through and through.  Santa's "autobiography" for my best friend who would marry Santa in a heartbeat if he would only ask her.  That's just a sample, but things that would never have crossed my mind a few years back.

Ya put your right foot in.  You put your right foot out.  You put your right foot in and you shake it all about.  You do the Andro-gyney and you turn yourself around.  That's what it's all about.

I never ask for anything. I asked people to stop buying me gifts a long time ago. If I want something I buy it. The only thing I like at Christmas is to be invited over to parties and dinners throughout the season - and slices of FRUITCAKE!!!!!

and slices of FRUITCAKE!!!!!

Chunk, Chunk, Chunk...did you ever wonder why some families have been passing the same fruitcake around for the last 40 years?  Be careful opening that present from Aunt Mabel, remember, we dumped the fruitcake on her last year!!!

OK, I admit that I have tasted some very good fruitcakes, but those are few and far between.  There is a very good reason why not liking fruitcake is an American Cliche'...it is because so many of them weigh 50 pounds a slice and taste like fishing-worm dirt and old tires.

Sorry, but I just couldn't resist...LOL

Hey Laurie,
Some of us do like Fruit cake. My mom use to make the best. Of course the rum was here secret and she never gave me her recipe.  :)

I was thinking that as androgynies beings any gift will work, gender specific or not. It is only our individual taste that makes the different. Jewelry, nightgowns, jeans, computer, games, novels, and science fiction, adventure, romance movies all appeal to me. :)

But what is more important to me is what how I can give joy to others at Christmas time. So for me it what can I give not what do I want.

Fruitcake is by nature androgenous, therefore it is the perfect gift. There is light fruitcake as well as dark fruit cake. Some has a coating of marzipan while others have that stickiness on top. Some has a higher cake to fruit ratio then others.

Fruitcake is good when allowed to mature (and fed with rum) over about 2 months.
Last time I tried to make one, I overfed it.
Ended up with a boozy rum pudding! Not a bad thing really :P

Stollen is a good alternative to Fruitcake and Panettone.

I think the things i ask for are middle of the road, or on the female side.  I ask for outdoorsy stuff like camping equipment from my parents, and last year i got a bird guide from Marq and Mia.  This year i asked for the peanuts christmas classics, and fun fuzzy socks, and slippers, and a mystery book, and a candle... not all to be given by the same person, but everyone in general.  In general, my gift "askings" are related to my hobies.  I'm not picky.   ;D

I like all the outdoors stuff too and I'm a birdwatcher so bring on those bird guides.
I can never have enough of them (all different that is).
Did I metion science fiction novels (starwas and star trek).

Mia and Marq

Oh was that what I was supposed to get you.

**Looks at watch, 1 day left, panics and runs for the door **

Marq

Being given the gift of two-spirits meant that this individual had the ability to see the world from two perspectives at the same time. This greater vision was a gift to be shared, and as such, Two-spirited beings were revered as leaders, mediators, teachers, artists, seers, and spiritual guides

Lol Marq and Mia,

Well I got my first androgyne gift from a coworker. Believe it or not she gave me a blue and a pink nail polish. Which reminds me of two popular androgyne colors for boy and girl. I had given her some beads to make some more jewelry. She is the person that I saw making beaded jewelry, that sort of lead me to try making some.

I am a junkie for CDs...I usually have a list somewhere.
Best part of christmas are the silly jokes that get recycled every year.

I'm practically giftless and am happy that way.

If something has to be coerced upon me, I'd prefer a book or music CD.

Nothing gender specific.

Stay away from fruitcake
