how did/does everyone deal with the annoying awkward stuff? i realize it's GOING to happen [with my voice. fml] but that doesn't mean it's any less frustrating.

Ah, I'm in much the same situation. I talk pretty quietly in class so my soft, high voice seems to cause me to be read wrong. Seth is a male name, damn it! I'm not just trying to screw with people by changing it.

I can't help you though, I'd feel much too uncomfortable correcting anyone who's not a friend so I usually keep quiet. Soon I will have T, very soon and my voice will cease to be a problem in the passing department.

Indireectly i've been told to leave no comment on the pronoun issue [me asking to be called a boys name apparently caused a few emails to the guidence dept. along the lines of "am i allowed to call her/it/him that"]
Which logically I can understand, since that will lead to bathroom issues (and I'm a junior. So its not like im new in the district and people can just 'forget' i was a 'girl' if you see wherer that's going)

Stupid brain. Knowing why things have to be one way or another, but hating it all the way.

I try not to be overly quiet when I talk, it makes my voice go higher. At least if I'm loud enough to be heard it *can* reach a "not hit puberty" range.

I encountered the same type of situation today, and I let it get me really really bummed..im so down, I hate emotions..
A girl in my class used female pronouns towards me, and stupid me was surprised. I have such a high voice and im so short, and all these ppl are like 17+.. I can't believe I expected to at least pass as a kid, a little boy in there.
I didn't say anything, I just put my head down.

Hmm? No need to apologize for that. I think I will talk to my counselor about talking to my teachers if I get impatient, perhaps you guys could do the same?

Hell yeah, if im on T and have a low voice how could I ever get miss'ed her'd she'd while talking. They'd look dumb haha.
Well id suggest asking your teachers to use male pronouns, doesn't hurt to ask.

I came out at work and changed my name about a month ago. I've been with the company 7 years and the majority of people have known me as female all this time. I've found that people slip up with the pronouns far more often than they do with the name. I tend to just make a joke of it. If someone calls me she I look round and say "she? where?" I make a joke about it because I don't want people to think I'm offended (I'm not, really. Disappointed but not offended - it would only offend me if they did it on purpose).

Anyway, it's only been a month, and seven years of habit is a lot to break.

This week I attended a new group, the first social group I've joined where I've presented as male right from the start, and not one person questioned my gender (although one or two questioned my age - I may pass as male but I don't pass as 40+).

Well... the kids within my high school are.. well, to be blunt like I usually am, are dumb. Ignorant that there are other classes, and not just GAY and BI and STRAIGHT.

I tend to be blunt with people. Eg: "Hey na---a right?" - No. Alun - "Oh...." :: And "Hey girl" ... I see no girl. I'm a boy.

Even when I don't wear my binder~ :DDD I'm blunt like that.
