Kyril is wise and intelligent, as he unfailingly is, and has spoken the truth.  I totally agree.

Sometimes, somebody is naturally just too far out for most people's tastes.  I offer up myself as a prime example of this kind of person.  Isn't it funny how much many people are either put off or threatened by somebody who is significantly outside the norm ... as they interpret the norm?  Thankfully, this IS changing for the better ... and evermore rapidly so.

I think this is because people are rapidly waking up to the reality of what all of you have said here:  Everybody has their not-so-normal side.  What a wonderful world this would be if people could just let other people be themselves ... as long as they are not offending or hurting others.  Of course, no matter who you are, somebody out there will be offended by you.  That's just life.

Seems to me that society is getting much better about the live-and-let-live thing.  That's great news to me.  Hope this trend continues.   It's fun to be hopeful and optimistic ... even if we have to work at it sometimes.   Let's just be us and enjoy it.

Ain't It Amazing Department:

Be a stand-out athlete, and people love you.  Be a stand-out intellect, and people hate you.

What's up with that?  Given the choice of being either football great Joe Montana or physics great Richard Feynman, I'd opt to be the latter every time.  Damn, Feynman had an awesome life ... and did alright with the babes too!    8)   Joe Montana?  Great life too!  Could he throw the surgical-precision-ultra-pass or what?  Nobody did it better!  Greatest quarterback ever, if you ask me.  Then, again, there was Johnny Unitas, Dan Marino, Ken Stabler, Fran Tarkenton, Terry Bradshaw, Peyton Manning, John Elway ... going back a ways ... Otto Graham ... the list goes on!   Hey, it'd be WAY cool to be Joe Montana, I've gotta admit it!

Rock on, Joe Montana!  Off-topic and goin' crazy; sorry!    :D   Let's just be our true selves!

Ah Joe Montana, He was in the first Grid Iron game I ever saw,  on SBS in Australia. Could not believe his resilience.
As for sports vs science, when was the last time anyone paid to watch a scientist  They will for Cooking shows though. Now that gives me an idea. Instead of Iron Chef; - Iron Scientist; where two scientists work to see what they can change a basic ingredient into. This week; Uranium.

Could catch on, you think  It's my patent BTW

Understood and agreed!    :D

Watching scientists; now THAT would be really boring!    :P   Iron Chef?  Great show!

Love the name "Iron Scientist" though ... hot damn!  What a name for a rock band!    8)

There WAS a band named Iron Butterfly.  Cindy, you old enough to remember them, girl?  I remember them very well.   Such great memories of going around as an early teen singing, "In a gadda da vida, baby!" and mimicking all kinds of stoned-out air guitar.  No, I did NOT get stoned that young.  Totally tripped out on psychedelic music though!

Here is a MUST-SEE video of one of their songs.  While you're watching this, just imagine if there was such a thing as morphologically-variant, shape-shifter, pscyhedelic-HRT!   If there was, we could morph into any and all of these gg's at will .... special effects and all.  Oh, YES!  That would SO blow people's minds.  I'd do it in a heart beat just to freak them out!    :D   Dream on, dream on ...    ;)   Honestly, this vid is way worth watching ... SOOO artistic and trippy.

Look at the women in this vid!  HRT has NOT changed my preference for women!  Welll, actually, ... the old orientation ain't so solid as it used to be.    :-X   Anyway, the gals in this vid?  As I look into their eyes, I just melt!    ::)

All in good fun, Cindy!  Loved your comment.    :D
Believe.  Persist.  Arrive.    :D

Totally, totally hot ladies.

I know this is off topic but what the hell. I look at women now a days and admire them, but I'm jealous in a green envy, why can't my hair, make up, what ever look that good. Why does that b****h have such pumped up lips. How does she do it. The hell of walking to a cosmetic counter and all the girls are pristine. Seeing a beautiful woman with her partner and children. Jealousy is a bitch. But I'm not sexually attracted to females any more. Yes I gaze and fantasize, but the fantasy isn't a male one. It's being her. I find myself embarrassed and somewhat disgusted, how could I want to steal her life :o  .  But I would love to be her. Hold my baby. Look into my husbands  eyes and see that he just needs me. Let him.
Sleep and keep my ear awake for my child.  Feel his 'woody' in the morning. Pretend to be offended. Let him. Oh gosh this could be a good day.

Dream on. Sadly

Hi folks,

thanks for your advice.

I've thought about the list I made in the thread opening a bit more. And I found out, the kind of people this list applies to have to deal with being a minority someway, one of those which get confronted with negative prejudice, and/or had (the opportunity) to deal with different cultures and used this to broaden their horizon and be cooler when it comes to judging other people.

Now I know somewhat better what's the deal here. People lacking that kind of experience just don't "work" for me. Often, they tend to say bull->-bleeped-<- about minorities without thinking about it, esp. if they've never been bullied themselves for being a "member of X". (People who belong to minorities do that  as well, though, but I think it annoys me less for whatever reason. ) I've been bullied a lot as a teenager, that's long ago, but I just can't stand people saying nasty things about minorities (though I tend to do this myself too).

But that's fine, saves me a lot of contacts with boring people. :D

Thanks for your feedback. You're right, I should not play a role to please other people. I was just wondering, why doesn't it work?

Sometimes, somebody is naturally just too far out for most people's tastes.

It's been a challenge when people *think they need* to change someone that seems to far out there and can't seem to cope with this difference. Xenophobic mass hypnosis follows as buddy-buddies use whatever made up negative about the far-out person as the truth. It's less common to find positive responses. Blaming it on drugs is the most common response. (which would mean one would *have to* take drugs to be normal... which is a dumb hypnotic hysteria to pass around like a virus)

The list the OP could be used to who is and who is not normal. Of course, that list doesn't include everybody. The list doesn't include *what is normal*, which leaves it open on interpretation and hate upon whoever is not on the list. Was that intended? I hope not.

I think you'll find the more positive time you put forward to know others the more positive response your experience will be, rather an individual is positive or negative. The "boring" type tend to use such facade as a way to simply test if anybody is really interested. If your not really interested, then you'll obviously take care of yourself and move on without any effort from the "boring" person.

To find someone else alive doesn't happen often. Thats the only thing that really matters.

Young people are only the real minority. Sounds lame, yet that is the more peaceful way to look at the world. Otherwise, its an endless battle of "who is the real minority" game show, which carries the negativity you mention.

Such game show, in fact, means that someone has to prove themselves as positive or else they be assumed to be negative. This is impossible when if you start to consider that for every new person meet that this proof of positive has to be replayed and reproven over and over to any current situation. People still expect the impossible.

Not sure what you mean by "it" but maybe consider yourself "normal" for a change. Being human is not normal, as the state of a human being is like universal "what if" everybody was the same. Science alone can prove this doesn't happen. The question of what is the same is impossible.

Being human is being a rainbow.

Sure, "normality" would be very exceptional. As the most statistically average town in Germany is Haßloch (which translates into "hole of hate" - ain't that lovely?)and in average, people have 1.6 kids here. Er, well, try to have 1.6 kids... You make lots of postings which I can make no sense of other than suspecting you to consume too much LSD, Gia, but here, I think, you are absolutely right.

People claim that when they don't think. They blame it on the drugs, too often, one way or another until they can't talk about it. A very sad art of war... their war. I'm surprised they don't put such tactic in the hasbara manual to make it official. Shouldn't we support educational books instead of any old smith & wesson 45.1?

I took a video of myself the other day and had the color slow effect on. I wondered if they should make that illegal to do. It reminded of the movie the hurt locker... where you can guess if it was normal to play the movie by faster sync or slower sync.

Rock on, Cindy Girl!

Just wondering, how long have you been on HRT?  You may have told me once.  Sorry, but I don't really remember.  I'll be on HRT for 1 solid year as of 14 December 2010.  Why do I ask?  The old shifting and fluid orientation bugaboo.  OMG, it's happening!

My gender counselor pointedly and poignantly forewarned me that this can and often does happen to transitioning people as they proceed apace with their hormone replacement therapy.  Of course, I told her and thought, "Not to worry.  That ain't gonna happen.  I'm into women.  Always have been.  Always will be."

Oh ... my ... God, Cindy!  It's happening!  Christ, I'm becoming bi!  I still am attracted to a hot babe or attractive older woman.  However, like, I'm inadvertently noticing guys occasionally.  Oh, God ... freak me out!  At the mall, they have this huge photo on the boards covering a new storefront as it's being built.  On it are photos of gals and guys modeling the clothes the store will sell.  There's this one guy in the photo, like when I walk by and see him, I'm like, "->-bleeped-<-, what a hot guy!"  Yeah, like, I'm getting "the tingles," "the flutters," whatever you want to call them.  You KNOW what I mean!  And, at my age!  Didn't think this was even possible.

Yaaahhh!  It's happening ... OMG!  My whole point with this?

Cindy, I do exactly what you do.  I see these fine young things at the mall every day, and I SOOO envy them ... wanting to BE them!   Allegorically speaking, I'm so there with you, girl.  Yeah, I really know what you mean.  You are NOT alone, by any means, in feeling this way.    :D

@ fencesitter:

Hey, man, thanks so much for starting and continuing this thread.  It totally rocks.  Love the whole thing and especially your comments ... most especially your kick-off post.  Hey, I don't mean to sound like an elitist or anything, but honestly, many "normal" people just plain bore the hell out of me, man.  Does this make me a snob?  Sorry, but damn, they just bore me too.  I can so relate to what you're saying here.    ;)

Did some of us start with xenophobic learning skills?

Ultimate boredom en passe; I wanted to put an extra slot on my cami with purple butterflies.

They wanted to play wow.

All I need is time; they still haven't got agricultural biocrystals.  (P.S. "ooohhhh shiny!!!")

Some baptize "in" and some baptize "on". They fear the third option.

Sorry I was being rude. What I mean is, many of your postings are very very cryptic to me and I can't make much sense out of them. Too many allegories or metaphors in them to be understandable for me. Like here, for example:

I didn't feel you were being rude, so cool with me.

My visual side is off the chart, and no changing that. It's a very cyberpunk skill. Last message may make sense those familiar with D&D scriptures (WoW) and real farmers.

Us visionaries just do our little rah rah cheerleader squad in poetic replies. No harm intended.

P.S. Sometimes i make jewelry, so adding gems to fashion is like "OOoohhhh pink power +1!!!!"
