HA!

I'm gonna take this as a compliment.

So, the new picture in the av
<<<

is one of a set of pics i did with a web-cam and then polished some with paint.net, and i've been rotating them through my facebook avs.

Well, I have a cousin on my friends list - an older lady who's always been a sweetheart to me but is a very strongly committed Christian who disapproves of my transition.

So last night she posted twice in succession to my wal these comments:

" Do u know how these photos of u look?"
"Looks like yr askin for IT? What do u expect going around like this??"

Now - maybe I'm rationalizing buuuut...it seems to me that you CAN'T consider those pictures to be too trashy or whatever in the sense she implies unless you are admitting that to the uninformed eye, that's a woman in the pic.

Am I right?

I wrote her back and said I hoped that what people see there is a reasonably attractive woman - and that any woman had a right to try to look sexy whether or not she was on the prowl.

I'll be interested in seeing how she replies but the way I figure it she can't deny that the image is female, else there would be no illusion that i'm "looking for IT"

(By the way, I've experimented some in general interest chat rooms and showed some of these photos to guys I've chatted with and none have yet called me out as anything other than female. I just wanted to see if they "passed" as well as they seem to to me)

They are good pictures, I would think it was a natal woman who is pretty in a typical suburban blond type way.

I see an attractive woman.  I don't see a trashy woman.  You look a bit Jean Harlow-ish in the photo, so perhaps that's the button that's being pushed with an older woman while young women wouldn't make that connection. :-\

Geez, ya can't win, whether ya look bad or look good. ;)

I'm too sexy for my birthday, Too sexy for my birthday... My 49th birthday coming up too soon

Sorry... Couldn't help but throw a bit of "Right Said Fred - I'm Too Sexy" in there... But yeah, I'll be 49 in a couple of weeks

Don't let aggressively negative folks get you down... Your new avatar looks great  :icon_chick:

I see only an attractive woman.  I never could understand why people can't just be happy that we are happy.

Agree, but I don't think an old woman would make that connection unless she was 80 years old... Jean Harlow was from the 1930s, it's 2010s now. Or someone who is into old movies, but still if she was born in the 40s she might view Jean Harlow like a woman from the 80s or early 90s relevance (in our point of view). So she get into contact with Jean Harlow.

The only reason why I know Jean Harlow is because I was into old Hollywood.

Maybe... Marilyn Monroe since she remained relevant in pop culture.

i'm thinking too much into it

Hey Tammy, you must let dying tree die to spawn a new fresh growth. You can not change bigotry and small minds who refuse to let the light of knowledge shine. I found the only way to show of who you really are is to embrace their dark hearts with your pure love and show them that you don't give up the hope. I find the more one shouts out scriptures and point finger the less their ears hear a true word of love. Don't doubt your self, you are beautiful and well on our way.

Did she ever reply? I can always enjoy a good story. If you don't want to share, then I respect that 110% ^.^

No, she didn't. kinda disappointed myself but that's her way.

the thing is - she didn't really hurt my feelings. She's a dear-heart who's just a victim of her socialization, not her fault.

My point in commenting was more to point out the irony - there's no way this sweet Christian lady would have been able to think i looked (this is not a word she would ever use but it's the idea she was thinking) "slutty" without first seeing a female in that picture.

as far as I'm concerned, it was a great compliment.

Good point. :)

When I started, I would have been happy to look like an ugly woman - as long as I looked like a woman.  (Of course, you don't have to worry about that, Tammy. ;))
