Good way of going about it?

I was thinking I should tell my mom (since I rarely see my dad) in small steps.

GREAT news. So, I told my mom that I am going to order a "girdle" type, "waist slimming" shirt. Guess it will be a shock when OOPS, I accidentally ordered the wrong thing    Any suggestions on what size? I'm a 34A, but I think a 32A would fit better. But also then again, I like them tight. I was thinking a small?

Also, I already own a male Polo and a button up. But today, I actually got up the nerve to ask for guy's jeans. I spent about an hour finding the perfect ones, bought 'em. Just needin to shape up in some areas to make them look perfect.

My hair is about 16 inches long. I will be cutting it in May. Thinking about going with the fauxhawk. Any suggestions on that?

Things are really starting to great. It's a big sigh of relief.

But am I going the right way about it? "Warming her up" then it won't be as much of a shock?

A few weeks before I told my mom I mentioned something about how a certain insurance company used to cover SRS, and now they don't. And I said it as if it were common small talk. She gave me a weird look and changed the subject.

Then, on the way home from school, I just told her...very bluntly. She was driving and crying but she's actually very supportive now. It just took her a while to get used to the idea. And anyway, she cries about everything.

But I think the best way to go about it is to just be open and honest, and know that it's going to take a while for your folks to adjust.

It's been MONTHS and my dad still messes up with pronouns...the thing is, we made a deal. Any time he messes up, he has to give me $5.

Hasn't messed up in a while. Hahaha.

Make sure your mom knows that you're open to questions...chances are she's going to be like nearly everyone else in the world, and she won't have any clue what it really means to be a transsexual. Give her some reading material...and most importantly, give her some time.
