Jackson High School students generally showed sensitivity during Tuesday's Opposite Gender Day, members of the school's Gay-Straight Alliance said.

They said members of the group were split on whether the day was a good idea, and some of them raised concerns beforehand.

"I think because we raised this, I think people were much more aware," said junior Elizabeth Bondarenko, 17, secondary council leader for the Gay-Straight Alliance. "People were more sensitive to the subject."
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." Oscar Wilde
