Possibly A Stupid Question...

Hey guys. I feel weird asking this, but I was just wondering if any one else has run into this issue.

I'm trying to work out a plan to save money for top surgery (Top surgery is a long way off, but I guy can dream.;) ). How much I need to save obviously depends on who does my surgery, and who does my surgery depends on what surgery I can get.

Most of the surgery guidelines I've seen, as far as whether you can get Peri or DI, have centered around cup size. I have absolutely no idea what size I am, and the internet isn't really helping. Some sites say to add four or five to the under bust measurement, and others say not to. I tried both, and there is a pretty significant difference between the results; enough of a difference that one puts me in range for Peri and the other says I'm nowhere close.

I guess what I'm asking is, does anyone know how the surgeons measure?

Any help would be really appreciated.

I'm not exactly sure, but I think the cup sizes surgeons give are just a general guideline - they'll make their own determination on peri eligibility based on your particular size, skin elasticity, etc. You could always email one of the surgeons and ask.

Are you sure you even want peri? It's more expensive, and the results are more unpredictable and often worse - the only advantage is the smaller scar.

The chances of you being eligible for a peri are slim to none, my partner who is transitioning as well is a very very small A and Dr. Garramone still recommended a double incision.  Your best bet would be to research surgeons and email them pics of your chest.  They will be able to help you out, best of luck.

Garramone will almost always recommend DI, regardless of size. Surgeons like Fischer are far more likely to suggest the procedure for A and B cups. There's a surgeon in the UK (Lena Andersson) who has performed peri on either C or D breasts (I forget which).

It may be worth emailing surgeons and asking if they'd take a look at pictures of your chest. I believe they're usually happy to do this. Especially if there's a chance of you giving them a few grand further down the line.

Fischer is the one to go to for peris.  Her results are good.  Two of my RL friends used her for peri with great results.  Garramone is excellent for larger guys (heavier) with larger moobs.

Thanks for the responses guys.
I'm pretty sure I want DI with Garramone regardless of whether I can get Peri or not, but I get worried when I think I'm cutting down on my options , so I figured I'd ask. :(
