The "double chin" after chin surgery... does it go away?

So as I mentioned before, two weeks ago I had "the works" with Dr. O, and I had a fairly long chin to begin with, and he took off 11mm... so it's incredibly shorter than it was.

Between this and the swelling, which has actually gone down immensely (I'm totally shocked... I just look a little chubby... but not even that much)... I have a bit of a double chin.

The thing is I'm tall and skinny (and only 30) and am wondering if this is going to go away as the swelling goes down more, or if it's just a case of all the extra skin being pushed back downward. :(

Dr. O said he couldn't recall someone my age needing a facelift after surgery, but then again I haven't seen many people with my kind of chin reduction, so I'm a little worried.

Anyhow.  Thanks in advance for those who have experience in such things. :)

You are still way too swollen from surgery to know what your face is going to look like. Make sure you follow his orders and massage under your chin on that little spot of meat directly under the chin just under your jaw for 10 minutes or so each day. That stuff needs to soften up and the swelling needs to go down. I had a lot of chin reduced and I was pretty swollen for several months but I don't have much of a double chin now :) Meghan
