Name Change and PSAT/SAT Scores?

I feel bad for asking two questions in such a short time, but I'm apparently worried about all things trans related this week  ::)

I have to fill out paperwork for the PSAT tomorrow, and I'm 100% sure that I have to fill the test out with my legal name (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Has anyone taken the PSAT, SAT, or ACT before having their name changed, and then changed their name before college? I'm really worried that they won't change the name on the test after I get it changed, and that colleges will have access to my old name.

If you have any experience with this, help would be greatly appreciated.

I transfered universities this semester and had to send in my high school/college transcripts and ACT scores with my old name on it.  College applications typically ask if your name is different on your high school transcripts than your new name that's being used on the application.  So you've got to tell them your birth name

I don't think they'll change your name on the actual test.  At least I've never heard of that.

I've taken national licensing tests post-grad and am unable to change the name on those, either. Transcripts and diplomas are all changed, but not those test scores.  And FWIW I'm not really in a position to retake them (way too long after graduation and it would be a major feat, not to mention expensive).  If I were your age i might just consider retaking the SAT after my name change, as annoying as that would be it wouldn't be as difficult.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure I'll have my name changed before I have to take the SAT. I'm more concerned about the PSAT since it's good for scholarships. This whole situation is stupid.  :-\

Anything from College Board (PSAT/SAT, AP tests) you have to put your full legal name on.

It sucks.

Now that I've filled out the paperwork, I'm confused as to how they even check names.  ???
I assumed they would just match it up with your social security number, but we were allowed to decline to give our SSN. Do you think it's because it's only the PSAT? I guess it might not matter too much since it isn't used for college admissions.

Dude I just filled out my PSAT stuff last week too. Let me tell you, it was such an esteem killer. I was so tempted to circle male and pissed that I had to put my birth name. School sucks =/

but my name will be changed sometime this year too and I guess I'll have have to just put my new name on the SAT when I take it next year?
