Story Here

The good news for Maria Gonzalez, Philadelphia's first openly transgender police officer, is that she became fully recertified this month to carry a firearm.

But the bad news is that she still can't carry a firearm at work, due to an incident in 2004 when she allegedly fired a weapon at the feet of another woman.

Gonzalez cannot comment on the investigation, but she looks forward to the day when the investigation ends and she can resume her full responsibilities.

It seems like there are quite a few (by which I mean more than I would expect) trans officers. I think it's pretty damn neat.
