A different method for coming out to my sister

I have a little sister who is in her early teens. We're very close as we both were victims of mental abuse from our stepmom. I feel it would be beneficial to come out to her. She has always wanted a sister so I don't think it will bother her. However explaining being trans to a teen sounds difficult. I found a series of videos on being trans on youtube by Calpernia Addams and Andrea James (trans actresses) and plan on watching them together with my sister. Would this be a better approach then coming out?

well she may need an explanation as to why you want her to watch the videos?
what about asking if she has TS friends or if there are any TS/CD in her class.
can you have a look at her school website to see if there is a LGBT policy?  or maybe call the school and ask if the kids get any LGBT stuff in class or as school harrassment policy.
or have you seen her reacting good or bad to TS themes and characters on telly/films or while out in town?

Coming out is not easy no matter who we do it to.

She has mentioned a "boy thats becoming a girl" at her school. I'm not sure what she means by that. He could be trans, a crossdresser, or just a really feminine guy. I'm not exactly sure.
