So my doctor told me to take a specific amount that I won't repeat here, but the part that concerns me is she said to do it every week, and most places I've read say it's every few weeks.

I'm figuring I'll try it out her way and in 2 months I can get my estrogen levels rechecked but should I be concerned about taking it every week?

She is an amazing doctor but she let's me run my own transition and has never prescribed injectables for someone for this reason.

Any info would be great, I'll reply to the amount I'm to take every week in a pm if anyone needs to know.

I don't know about E, but with T I have the option of injecting every two weeks or once a week. The once a week dose is half of the two week dose. Once a week seems to keep the levels more even. Easier to remember too.

that's what I was thinking with the once a week thing. I have an insanely high metabolism so she's probably taking that into account.

My doctor has a fairly large TG practice,  usually prescribes every two weeks, but mentioned that he had one who preferred weekly.  I don't notice any emotional drop over two weeks, so only half as many needles in my butt.  works for me.

Yes -- that can be done with E; I know several people where that is their regiment because they were very sensitive to the level changes

If your T levels are high it will take more E + antiandrogens to counter it. If they are low it takes lower amounts. Trust your doctor-try to be patient-and see how it goes for a few weeks. You can always adjust it if it is evident you need a change. When I was on a patch I didn't notice much of a change from the status quo but when I began injections and antiandrogens changes were very fast in coming-physical and mental!! Now I am very sensitive emotionally and my nips are sore but I know change is here now.

I started out once a week with the docs approval because many had said they felt better with it that way, but once I changed to every 2 weeks I felt better, and more time for the injection sites to heal between shots. I think regardless of the frequency it takes time to get used to and one is not inherently better than the other based on your reaction in the first few months.

A guide that I have bookmarked suggests every 10-21 days, but the doctor may have his/her reasons for going with weekly.

I called in and double checked with the doctor on my dosage amount. My normal doctor Ashley wasn't there but the other doctor in her practice was. I have never met him but he is still familiar with my file and we discussed my dosage. He said she put me on a really high dosage, but her notes indicate that my body can handle it and I should be fine. If I felt sick or noticed any bad changes to immediatly call but otherwise to continue with the once a week method.

I took the shot this morning about 14 hours ago and I can say that as of about 4 hours ago my nipples are extremely sensitive.

I'm seriously considering wearing bandaids over them tomorrow so that my shirt doesn't keep brushing them.

On the pills I noticed changes really fast and my doctor thinks it's fascinating how I'm responding to hrt.

A bit scared I don't see her for two whole months, but I do trust her and am really excited about the potential!

Just over a week til I reach 3 months on hrt!

That's great. Looks to me like the treatment is  working well for you too  ;)

Yea it actually is. I keep questioning all the time if everything is in my head or not but then I get the strangest compliments or questions at work so it must be working.

I also have people calling me ma'am from behind a lot now so I guess I really am developing a female structure or at least move in a feminine way!

The best compliment I have had yet happened today, a member stopped me and apologized for what she was about to say and then asked me what lotions I am using and said that my skin is absolutely glowing and that she would love to use the products I use. I laughed and told her the soaps/shampoo's I use and she just couldn't get over how soft and smooth my skin is. I did notice when she left the warehouse that she had bought all the products I had mentioned that I use though. I hope she gets at least some good results but I think most is genetics and the hormones.

My roommate always comments as well about how my body is changing and that I definitely have bumps on my chest that are noticeable now. She did sadly add in that it looks like maybe I've been working out or gaining weight with the shirts I wear but with my shirt off I definitely am growing and fast.
