I just found an "abdominal binder" in my basement!

Sam-

I've never had a real binder before, and Ace bandages aren't worth the risk/uncomfort for me, plus they don't work well. But I just found this abdominal binder, tried it on and it works well enough for me, definitely! It's not too uncomfortable either. I'm assuming it's from when my dad broke his ribs a few years back. Is this safe to use as a chest binder? I wouldn't be binding everyday.

Yeah, I know a lot of guys use those as a binder before they can afford a proper binder. I think they are okay to use as long as you don't wear them too tight or all the time. So, as long as you can still breath and aren't wearing it constantly, you should be okay! I'm not sure if it has any long term risks as opposed to proper binders, I would imagine it has the same risks that run with binding in any way. Hopefully someone else more knowledgeable comes along to help!  :)

Yes, I agree, they can be awesome under some situations. Swimming, under another looser binder, tank top, etc. I am a big fan, but only here and there. Looks good under a beater, I think. Good for "quick release" feature!...like if you want to go swimming without a  shirt on and don't want to wrestle with a big ol' binder, that is one of my favorite uses.

now my only worry is hoping no one in my family notices it's gone or notices that my boobs are suddenly much smaller
