Halloween Costumes

As I've stated in my first post, I dress in private. From reading other posts it appears I'm not alone. Well, a co-worker of mine is throwing a Halloween party and I'm thinking of using the party as a small step to being more public, by going in full dress. I haven't really celebrated Halloween the last few years, mostly because I have been single and don't have kids. I'm not sure if I should go as just a woman using my regular clothes, or if I should be a more specific character. Right now, I'm leaning towards a character. I went to a few costume shops today and fell in love with 3 different ones that all fit great. A sexy devil, a vampire bride and Dorothy from OZ.

I'd love to know what other closeted crossdressers are doing this Halloween and what direction I should go in my costume choice.

Halloween is so fun!!! It sounds like you have good choices to pick from and you have a good plan. We hope you have the best time!

Janet Lynne you would make a great Mortica Addams! I have thought about being her too in the past, just because I like her. I am much too short and round to pull it off well.

Well, I've narrowed it down to the Vampire Bride or Dorothy. I'm checking the the shop tomorrow and well make my decision then. I'll keep you updated.

Mrs. Erocse, you are 100% percent right about Halloween. I've been having dreams every night about the party since my co-worker invited me. She asked me today about my costume, I'm sure I was blushing with excitement, even though I told her I hadn't given it much thought. She's the reason I'm not going as a devil, that's what she's going be.

Unfortunately where i live there will be no halloween party, but next anime convention i´m gonna use my bunny maid cosplay ^^

I'm really thinking about going as a pirate, cause pirates rock xD... Although I don't really go to parties even if I'm invited so.. I'll probably save my money hehe. But if I did dress up I would do something like this:

I gave a little thought to dressing up in my girl clothes this year, but guys going in drag really isn't something that anyone in my circle of friends would normally do for halloween so I'm thinking of another idea.

This one is more silly/stupid (which is right up our ally), it's a vampire/pirate hybrid. I call it a vampirate. My back story is that I, an everyday vampire, was out stalking about one night when I was suddenly attacked by a pirate. Sadly my vampiric powers were useless as there were no angsty teenage girls nearby to seduce, and so I was bitten and transformed into a vampire-pirate creature.
I have an eye patch and a set of fangs already and I'm going to get a pirate shirt and hat and then wear black pants, shoes and hopefully a black overcoat.

I'm going as a goth version of the tooth fairy.  I'll be painting on a beard (who says the tooth fairy can't be a dude?).  I've got these huge fairy wings I made out of clothes hangers, electrical tape, and tissue paper.  I picked up a tiara from Salvation Army.   I'm going to wear black jeans and black shirt and make a wand to carry where the end is a big bloody tooth with black streamers.  No one who sees me will ever think of the tooth fairy the same again.

Well, this weekend didn't go as planned. I had planned to attend a party Saturday and was on my way when my car broke down. This gal knows nothing about cars, and had to call a tow truck. So, didn't get to attend the party. After getting to the mechanic's I was all dirty, upset and nearly an hour from the party, so I just went home.  I spent the night(until 2:00am) alone, in my dirty dress watching a couple of Blue-ray movies. I ended up deciding to go to the party wearing my own clothes, rather than as a character. My work schedule made it difficult to find the time to shop. Each day I thought I'd be free, something just got in the way. I've learned my lesson, so next year I'll make sure to have my costume bought by the end of the 1st week of October.

Halloween was quiet here too. Not one trick or treater. My daughter took her costume back the nite before because none of her friends wanted to do anything. We watched the, "Hitcher" as a family. (the 3 of us). Erocse made us triple chocolate chip cookies. I screamed really loudly at all the suspensful parts of the movie.(This is an involuntary reaction I have to scary movies.) We had a nice evening though it was quiet.  Hope you all did too.
