Has anyone here ever attended the Esprit in Port Angeles, Washington. It's a transgender convention. I just heard about it the other day. It takes place in May. My wife and I were thinking of going this year. It's funny, My wife grew up in a small town about twenty miles south of Port Angeles.  She has allot of family still living there. So we go to visit that area often.  The event sounds like it may be fun. Although some of the site seeing excursions might be a bit redundant, for us.

I had planed on going last time, aplied for a scholarship and never heard from them. I figured if they couldn't even take the time to tell me yes or no I wouldnt bother.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

I live within driving distance, and I'm seriously considering going this year.
Although, I must admit as I haven't done anything of this nature before I'm more than  a little nervous about taking the plunge.
I was going to go the last 2 years but chickened out both years at the last minute.
As I'm getting rather long in the tooth, I've pretty much decided that it's this year or continue living in the shadows for the rest of my life.

I would love to go but just like last year, I just can not afford it.

A few years ago, I kinda went to the conference.  I had a consult with Dr. Meltzer there.  It was free since it wasn't in his Scottsdale office.  While I was sitting in the lobby of the hotel waiting to see him, a guy came in and asked about room availability.  There was no vacancy, due to the conference being at the hotel.  The clerk told him, "Sorry, we're all booked because of the transgender conference."  She used a normal tone of voice, like this was something she said everyday.  The guy replied, "Trans-what."  So she explained.  It was nice to see the hotel front desk people so knowledgeable about it.

I think I'd really like to go to this next year, and I am hoping that my wife will come along too. We went to the Philly Trans Health Conference (which had more FTM than MTF) and really gained a lot from it. I have heard good things about the Esprit conference.
