I guess most of you who've worn pleated or a-line miniskirts are already familiar with the issue.  You generally smooth the backside of your skirt before sitting down, so that when you sit you don't have to sit only on your panties with the skirt pulled behind.  But I'd like to know if it's good (assuming that it's a hygienic place you're sitting on), to sit without doing the 'back-rub' to:

1.  save the pleats of a pleated skirt and
2.  sit on your panties and make more materials available to the front for more comfortable thigh movements.  Also, it sometimes creates the illusion of a flower spread out  if it's a pleated or a-line skirt.

I'd still do the "back-rub" thing to sit on the skirt a little so I wouldn't have to sit on just my panties.  It doesn't hurt the pleats, which will spring back up once you stand--or it always did for me.  I never trusted that anywhere was hygienic enough because who knows what's been on that spot before.   And I always made sure my legs were closed in some way so no one could sneak a peek.  I would sometimes sit a little on my side, too, because it would prevent people from seeing anything and would sometimes help make the skirt look a little better and make my legs look thinner. xD

never seen anyone do that pantie sitting thing and I was around when the miniskirts first came into fashion.
