I'm impoverished, but started to be obsessed about getting my hair cut to look more androgyne-well that and to stop putting it in a bun for work.
It took me ten minutes to personhandle it into a bun the other day and I thought: yanno, this is a pain, I hate this, let's get it cut off.
So, being poor, I went to a beauty college...
And got my hair cut WAY shorter than I intended!
I wanted an under-the chin length inverted bob (bob haircuts: what women in the 1920's had).
Ended up, between 2 trainers and the student, with a lip level bob. You can see the bottoms of my earlobes! Yikes!

I really like where I work...but need a new job b/c I need to make more $, regardless of how much I like it here :(.  And the last thing I need right now is to look  as queer as I actually am to a prospective employer...
It's cute, yeah. A well done cut, yeah...but it's really short.

I'm (yes) feeling androgynous, but didn't intend to give it enough free rein yet to cause me more problems than I already have...So I guess I get to buy some dark eyeshadow and nail polish for job interviews? maybe even some powder base???? ACK!

I like being honest, open and out, but I like having food and electricity too, yanno.

Rite, even straight cis girls sometimes get short haircuts. If you really need to look fully hetero-girlish and you think the cut's too queer, just part it to one side, pin it back with a barrette and put on some pink lipgloss. Worked for me at that length when I was in the military. No need for the nailpolish, and certainly not the eyeshadow (with short hair, adding more makeup can actually make you look less conformist).

Cool! I've got that right in the Indian ammo bag I use as a purse at this very moment! Right on!

Edited:Yep, that does, in fact, look pretty darn hetero.  And thanks for serving in the military, BTW.

I guess the main pont of the haircut was to get my growing gender agitation to leave me alone, but now I'm freaked out because I think my androgyny's  more obvious!
However, my hair grows fast enough that it'll be almost to my chin or past by the end of the year.

I really wish I could just forget I realized this about myself...ignorance wasn't bliss, but it was less work...

I had a lot of self hatred surrounding parts of myself I now see those things as gifts rather then as a curse.
without understanding my true self I'd be a lot worse off
I don't want to be a man there from Mars
I'd Like to be a woman Venus looks beautiful
I'm enjoying living on Pluto, but it is a bit lonely

I don't know if this will make you feel better or not, but on America's Next Top Model* this week, Tyra told one girl that looking androgynous was her gift.  :)  She's right too.  They gave her a super masculine haircut and she's way hotter with the andro look than before.  Use it to your advantage!  And really, confidence will overtake any issues with your look.  If you're confident, that's all that matters.  Don't let it jar you; own it!
