For the states that allow change of ID/License without SRS, how does that work if you're born in a state that requires SRS to change your birth certificate gender?

For example a transguy from Ohio changing his DL but he was born in Virginia where he cannot change his birth certificate without SRS. I guess what I'm really asking is will it matter that the two do not match up?

I don't see why this would be a problem.  How often do you have to show your birth certificate and for what?  I can't remember the last time I had to show mine.  My first passport, perhaps, but for that I think they take your federal gender (Social Security), which requires GRS to change.  (Well, passport isn't a good example, since the State Department recently came out with a change where you can be the gender your therapist says you are.)

My license has been changed to m, my birth certificate has not yet. Its not the end of the world I don't think. Your license is a part of everyday life but you rarely have to pull out your birth certificate. My school knows my situation so even though my health records say female I am still listed as male in the roster. However before I got my license changed the stupid lady at records thought it saying I was male was a mistake and changed it >:( I used to crap my pants a lot before I got that changed. Now Im a lot more relaxed.

No, but it does matter if your SS gender doesn't match. This is where employers will be notified about the discrepancy and I'm not sure who else.
