I find it very odd , how each person perceives the same thing differently. A funny thing happened to me. Two weeks ago I went with my wife shopping at our local mall. My wife and I went into Wet Seal , where she found two blouses that she liked and wanted to try on. We walked to the fitting room area where there was an attendant arranging  clothes on a rack. There was a small waiting area in front of the fitting rooms. The fitting rooms were all private each having its own mirror and door. I quickly parked myself on a seat in the waiting room area. My wife took the first room closest to the waiting area . I could see her room clearly as well as most the other rooms. All the time , the attendant kept looking over at me. Mind you I am not presenting at female at this time. (I don't think that I am ready yet) . I do however wear my hair long and down .No makeup at all. I dress in mens clothes just a little more colorful the most. So my wife tries the first blouse on and opens the door to the fitting room, so that I could see her. (its only about six feet away) so I stand up and walk towards her , and the attendant turns around and nearly has a fit " we can't have men back here!" " there are women dressing here and they need their privacy! " I didn't want to cause a scene so I sat back in my seat. My wife stood in the door way  I had to talk to her from where I was sitting. I really did not like that woman!!!

So here is the funny part. I was at Ross department store today. With my wife. I found a good deal on a couple of pair of mens skinny jeans. I wanted to try them on, so I headed for the fitting room. There was a lady attendant there  that was handling both the mens and the womens fitting rooms,  they were separate . She gave me a number and told me to go on in . So I headed for the mens fitting room. As I did , she spoke up and said "Oh no honey, this way" and she pointed to the womens fitting room. I smiled , turned around and went right in. You should have seen the grin on my face!!!!!  This was the first time in a ladies fitting room, I  made sure to stay as long as I could, the whole time smiling. I don't think I have stopped smiling since.

I have to try not to get too excited over this. I don't want to rush into things to quickly but this , to me is a very good sign.

(  My cloud does have a silver lining. It's just a bit tarnished at the moment...... Nothing a little polish can't fix.) ( me)

I just came across this post, so I'm reviving it.  >:-)

That is a cool story erocse, congrats on the Ross incident and poo on the gestapo at Wet Seal. Maybe it has a lot to do with Wet Seal's clientele being, largely, young teen women, they feel they need to protect them from husbands wanting to comment on their wives selections and think it is significantly more comfortable for the other ladies to hear a guy shouting into the dressing room that he likes the fit of this blouse better than the other. Common sense is not a strong quality any more.

My first ladies dressing room experience was even more bizarre - and exciting. I was dating this girl about 7 years ago (well before realizing that I was TS) and we were planning to go out to the ballet and she wanted me to help pick out a gown for her. That part alone was exciting for me (I really wanted to be able to wear a gown), but after picking out 3 possible choices she said she was going to try them on and wanted my opinion. So she practically dragged me by the hand into the dressing room with her. She assured me it was okay and perfectly normal for guys to go in with their ladies. This was in Parisians(sp?) before they closed. She just casually undressed and slipped into the 3 gowns one at a time and asked me what I thought.

That was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I didn't get to wear a gown, and even more unfortunately, she broke up with me before the show, so I didn't get to spend the evening admiring her in the gown I helped pick out.
