So...

I called my old manager at REI, and I pretty much have my old ski tech job back. I was elated until I walked into the store again, and realized how gnarly that job was. The job itself was OK- just fixing skis and helping customers... This of course was pre-coming out to myself and knowledge of my transexuality. Then the manager tells me that I'll probably be working 40 hours a week while the snow flies, then "oh down to 10 hours a week or so during the spring."

It just seems like I need more stability than that right now! I don't have any other leads right now, so it's hard for me to just blow this off.

Anyone else been in the same boat? What jobs have you ladies worked during transition that worked well for you?

I guess I'm just freaking out. I haven't felt this panic since before I came out. I just want to cry right now!

Solidarity ladies! I just need a shoulder to cry on!

Whimper!! Sniffle!

If you are taking the job because you need the funds that is one thing.  But if it is not where you wish to be keep looking.

I would go back to my old job, but I would not nor will I go back to being male, just to have one.

Alia.   Creative thinking is called for.  When there is no skiing what else can you do with your skills or all the people you meet during the winter?  Any way you can help them keep fit or walk their dogs or any dry ski slopes and such around?

I say, take it, for now, then still continue to search for a job that beats that.
