Police say that Herman Burton, a man who dresses as a woman, allegedly entered 49-year-old Patrick Brady's room at the Omni Hotel between Friday night and Saturday morning, robbed, beat and strangled him, then set his room on fire to cover up the crime.

Authorities say a transgender prostitute, Herman Burton, who has an extensive criminal history, was arrested in connection to the death of 49-year-old Patrick Brady.

Brady had checked into the Omni Hotel at Fourth and Chestnut Streets on Friday night. In the early hours of Saturday morning, Brady, 49, let 22-year-old Herman Burton, who police said dresses and identifies as a woman, into his eighth-floor room.

"He wasn't a good person," a neighbor who declined to give his name said of the suspect identified by police as Herman Burton, 22, of Southwest Philadelphia. "He was no good to the public. Some people are just born to be quick-tempered. Every little thing got him angry and out of control."
