Okay, I'm five months into hrt and looking to go f/t in the next couple of months so I thought that I'd change my profile pic to something that better represented how I look now and without a huge amount of make up to get some advice. My hair is pretty long and thick on top so bangs etc are a realistic option, but I'm not sure that they will suit? Any advice would be apprieciated.

Also I would apprieciate some advice regarding ffs and any obvious areas of concern. I'm 39 so know that I'm never going to be a beauty queen and want to give hrt the opertunity to do what it is going to do, but would like to know if there is anything that just screams man and really needs attention.

Thanks Mx

I think bangs will look great on you!

I think you are looking good Millie.   ;D

Bangs would be perfect for you because you have a high forehead. There are a few makeover sites online that let you try on hairstyles, see what kinds of bangs you like! Side swept, blunt, long, tapered... You catch my drift. I did this for my girlfriend Elaine and it was really informative :)

Bangs or fringes as we call them in Australia, are great on high foreheads or pronounced brow ridge or bossing.

I think you have a lovely round forehead which will look good with bangs or even without.  :)

MillieB, this pic that is your avatar:  This is you?

You're doing great!  Of course, beard removal is a must.  I'm one to talk.  I haven't even done that myself yet, and I go full-time tomorrow ... 31 October 2010.  I'm on the West Coast (U.S.A.) and it's 10:23 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time.  Guess I'm already full-time in the eastern half of the country!    ;)   Happy Halloween!

Millie, my big issue is wide shoulders and a broad back tapering to a thinner waistline.  That's never going to change.  Problem?  Yes.  Solution?  Dress to downplay the shoulders and the back and to upplay my waist, hips and legs ... my best features.  Check yourself out in the mirror and assess your features.  It's amazing what you can do with well-chosen clothes and wigs to downplay larger shoudlers and backs.

All in all, you're lookin' GREAT!  Patience!  Remember, genetic girls take several years to really blossom when they're in puberty.    :)
Believe.  Persist.  Arrive.    :D

Ha ha ha! I will say in my defence that I'm nowhere near as broad shouldered as this pic makes me look, if you saw the whole pic you would see that I'm at a weird angle, but it is still an issue that will hopefully be helped when I lose a bit more muscle and some fat!!

I'm not going to worry too much about the stuff that I can't change and try to work on the things I can, but I just thought that I would get some honest advice because although I can look okay(ish) with loads of make up and a wig for a pic, it's not the way that I want to live my life when I go f/t so I'm just after advice.

Don't talk to me about beard removal!!! :'( I have spent a fortune on IPL and have now moved onto laser and I still have shadow on my top lip >:-) >:-)) I'm sure that I'll get it sorted soon, but sometimes I want to cry!

Thanks to you all for your feedback :)

Why not bangs.  Sara Palin is almost 50 and has bangs.

Thank you, Girl!    :D

Lacey Girl walks The Washington Square Mall most evenings ... just for fun ... and Starbucks! ... Straight-Black Bold (SBB).  Wink at me if you happen to be there and see me.    ;)

Well, I'm still in good shape but not sterling shape like ChrisTinaFoxxBruce on here at Susan's Place.  That's gonna change as of now.  Today, I whipped it on at L.A. Fitness and will hit it with persistence and passion again.  I'd avoided the gym for fear of muscling up.  ChrisTinaFoxxBruce convinced me I can pull off a feminine, albeit athletic, look and still look nicely girl-like.  Don't wear my girl shorts with the cooler weather.  Otherwise, you'd know me when you saw me.  Just lucky genetics, I guess.  At least I have one good feature.

Make that late-middle-aged chick, honey ... Lacey ain't young no mo'.    :P

Erocse, Mrs. Erocse and you have rapidly become some of my favorite people here on Susan's Place.  You two actually live in Oregon?  Far out!   Rock on, you two!   Erocse, you are lookin' FAB-U-LOUS, Girl!!!   Exercise and diet have worked their magic on you.  Have faith in your HRT, stay positive and love your spouse ... you've got a total keeper!    ;)  My best to both of you.
