Very few actors in Kollywood dare to experiment with their roles and go to any extent to suit the characters they play. Sarath Kumar is one such star, who is on an exploring mode these days. If it was a historical character in a Malayalam period film Pazhassi Raja, here is the latest news from his stable. He will be seen as a transgender in the title role of a film titled Kanchana which is directed by choreographer-turned-filmmaker, Raghavendra Lawrence.

The movie is a sequel to Muni that was also directed by Lawrence. Lakshmi Rai is paired opposite Lawrence, who plays the protagonist. The Jaggubhai star has gone for an image makeover to suit the role of a third gender. He has removed his characteristic moustache (see pic) and will soon curl his tresses too. Confirming the news to DC he said, "When Lawrence narrated the script, it was very challenging. I had no hesitation in signing on the dotted line."
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." Oscar Wilde
