Gender Bender

http://unhcc.blogspot.com/2010/11/gender-bender.html

What comes to mind when you think of the word gender?  Many think man vs woman.  Maybe ideas of gender-specific clothing, traits, interests, or culture come to mind.  (Even gender-specific implies there are two specific genders.)  However, gender is much more complex than man vs woman, or girl vs boy. Bi-gendered, gender variant, transsexual, transgender, cross-dresser, etc. are all terms that apply to people who challenge traditional notions of sex, gender, and sexuality.  Next week is Gender Identities Awareness (GIA) week at UNH which seeks to celebrate and education about gender diversity.  In the spirit of GIA week at UNH, here are some things to consider.
