While appointees of President Obama have urged those who believe they are "transgendered" to lobby for sex-change surgery costs to be covered by Obamacare, a patient in the United Kingdom says all he should have been given under his country's nationalized health care was counseling.

"Based on my own experiences, I believe sex-change operations should not be allowed, and certainly not on the [National Health Service,]" said the patient, Charles Kane, whose story appears in a report on the Christian Institute website.

Kane continued, "People who think they are a woman trapped in a male body are, in my opinion, completely deluded. I certainly was. ... I needed counseling, not a sex-change operation."

From a rather minor story of some confused guy with a chip on his shoulder, to international headlines.

I really hate to say this, but the entire story, from the begining in 2006 to now seems like people with an agenda.

The arguments in this example are based upon the notion, that it doesn't seem right.

But with this latest installment, the proposed and heavly opposed US national health scheme is being attacked citing apparent inadequacies in the UK NHS. Along with the earlier inclusion of the Daily Mail, possibly the timing, coming when the tea party lot have made some apparent gains using mob rule, the agends seems to be apparent.

Once again, common sense, democracy basic humanity and progressive politics are being utterly upstaged and defeated by the forces of populism.

They will win of course.

Without actually saying what that means!

According to the Christian Institute, there are a multitude of cases developing in the U.K. in which children as young as 16 have been given sex-change treatments. Parents have lobbied the National Health Service for drugs for their children for such treatment.

Utter rubbish of course. But impossible to disprove. So, effective, evidence.

Critics of sex change operations say that gender dysphoria is a psychiatric problem, not a physical one, and radical physical surgery does more harm than good.

That is actually two arguments. The first is completely correct in most cases.  The second is incorrect. Most people with this condition respond very well to surgical based treatment.
