Laser on face

Two days ago I had my 4th laser treatment on my beard.  Everytime I get a treatment I notice that for the first 7-10 days following, my beard grows really funny, like comes out in a rash almost, the hairs grow really course and my skin looks a bit blotchy.  I also find it grows faster in this period in different parts of my face, even when shaving every day.

After, say, day 10 - my face is left quite smooth looking and after shaving it looks really clear and clean cut.  Is this normal?

Also, since I have to get my laser once every 4 weeks, I notice that by around week 3, my facial hair is starting to grow thicker and faster again, and stays like this til around day 10 of my next laser treatment - is this right?

Just to add - I am 20 years old, not on HRT and my laser clinic is the reputable sk:n clinic!

I have just had my 5th session and the results have been a bit like you describe.
I  was told that there should be 6 weeks between sessions, as the hair grows in a 6 week cycle and if it is hit at the wrong time will be shocked into starting it's growth cycle again.

Thats right the follicals are badly burned hence why they behave like that with the red hardness... It's white blood cells crowding the burned area. the hair root dies and the hair is begin excized from the skin at a rate faster than it would normally grow.

As Pebbles said.  Plus, the hair itself is burned and so it is larger and more noticeable until it falls out. 

Keep at it.  It will get better and the results will be a smooth face (yay!).

I get the same result after laser, brittle weird hairs that eventually come out of my skin simply by rubbing it but don't detect a rash. Shaving is more painful than usual.

For me three weeks isn't nearly enough for there to be a sufficient amount of hairs to work on, more like 6 to 8 weeks, and most of them are around my chin and mouth which are supposed to grow faster than other parts.
