Is "->-bleeped-<-" So Bad?

Gay activists seem to have a problem with the use of the word "->-bleeped-<-" to connote a transsexual person.

They feel it's demeaning and derogatory--it's basically "the t word."

But I've never heard anyone else ever complain about it.

I use it, in fact, the way it's tossed around on the downtown scene, as a total term of endearment, and the kids don't bat a lash over it.
