check with the pharmacist or your doctor.  Some herbs can cancel or react with medications.

Actually, milk thistle seems relatively benign.  I took it for years, but recent studies show that it probably doesn't help my particular liver problem.  I would be careful of the products that contain mixes with other herbs.  I always took a brand produced in Germany under the really strict German laws where it is pharmaceutical quality.  Interesting, I just did a search and it has an estrogen like effect also and can cause menstruation.  If I start to do that, it truly will be a miracle.  Note; I still take SAM-E,  S adeno methionene?, for my liver and mental health.  Again, very benign profile, while extensive studies under clinical conditions show benefits.  It is a drug - read directions.  Also, if like me, you are worried about liver fibrosis, drink COFFEE!  There is a very high correlation of coffee drinkers with liver disease and non-progression of fibrosis compared with those who do not drink it.  If you have a liver disease, best of luck.
