A family member told me not too long ago that I am on the wrong path and that transsexuals are losers, out of work, rejected, and hated by society. This person went on.
There are many successful transsexuals. There are ones that are not so successful, and ones in between. Transsexuals are people, like everyone else.
The problem is that many transsexuals go stealth and are not in the public lime light. What ordinary people take notice of are the exceptions, although I think part of the reason they focus on the negative results (murders, out of work, etc.) is that they want to.
Still, it is nice when we have in our community such a success story. What is nice about this judge was that she was open and elected. That means that 50%+ of the people who voted chose a transsexual over a non-transexual.
Society is at the start to accepting the LGBT community, especially the "T" part. There will be more such successes until one day it will be common.
Maybe we can have our first transsexual president one day. :-) (That might be wishful thinking, but why not?)
