transitioning in the workplace

Work takes up the majority of my time and can be one of the main points of concern for many transgendered people. Because of this, I want to go over what I've gone through already with my job, and what my plans are for the future.
I'm the assistant manager for a specialty retailer in a small town just outside of San Francisco. I work directly with customers in an attempt to build a comfortable and inviting environment for them to come and shop. I actually know many them of by name, and in turn, they know me by the name I use while I'm there (my birth name.) I never want the fact that I am transitioning to interfere with my customers' comfort. So I'm doing my best to take it slow for now.
