I heard that some FTMs were using DHEA prior to T. DHEA is produced by adrenal glands as a precursor for T.It will increase T level in both men and women..so some side effects are increased facial hair, weight gain, acne,it has also slightly masculizing effect. I'm not sure how long it'll take for me to start HRT (don't have family support and expenses are not covered by State..so can't start transition at the moment)..but I was thinking to start using DHEA (no prescription needed)...to improve male appearance(for a year I'm working on body building intensively).Does anyone have any experience with DHEA?

I looked into DHEA a little bit, you got me curious.

One thing I read about it is that DHEA can convert to testosterone - but it can also convert to estrogen.

But the way I read that was it can cause feminine characteristics in males and masculine characterists in females.

Hell, I'd give it a shot.

I started taking DHEA a week ago, I can't start T for a while yet, and today noticed a bit of sideburn-facial hair (don't laugh, i didnt know what to call it)...cant explain how  much that made me happy. Yes, I"ve heard that it can convert to estrogen in men, thus creating feminizing side effects in bio guys. I'd say go for it, the worst it can do is bring out some slightly feminizing features, but I'd guess that if you T levels are that of a regular guy, it wouldn't show much. Just what I got from various studies online.

I bought DHEA today..yeah I was also worried when I read that it can also convert to estrogen(have fear that my breasts will start growing)...but it seems it has more androgenic effect.anyway I have natural hormonal imbalance...that's why I have some facial hair without T...Thanx for information buddy...if it works for u, guess it will work for me...
