castration

I am in an unusual situation. I am a 60 year old man who may well be facing castration (chemical or surgical) for prostate cancer. I am married.
I have no problem with giving up intercourse as I have always been more oral and I am actually fairly effeminate already.
My question is, will my libido go away after castration....how will I change?

Many men (and transwomen) who have had an Orchidectomy are still capable of attaining an erection.
You will need to go on hormone replacement once they are gone. Either estrogen or testosterone. But if you are being treated for prostate cancer they are not going to want to give you testosterone.
If they put you on estrogene you can expect some breast development and lose of libido. Erections will be possible but they will not be as hard as before and geting one will be more dificult than before.

You may wish to talk to your doctor it is becomes a problem.  I had mine a years ago and I am glad I lost that ability.  Some men take testosterone to make up for what was lost.  We Transwomen are glad to be rid of that poison.

I had an orchie in April and while the tissue can become erect, the intensity is much less now. On a numerical scale things went from a 10 to a 2 so it's still quite a dramatic difference. I was glad to be gone of the T factories. Being able to stop spiro was nice too (and cheaper in the long run).
