When he started his long running talk show in the early 90's, ironically it broadcast some informative shows on trans issues when he was trying to compete with the then king of the talk show format in Phil Donahue.

But it's been all downhill toward becoming the King of Trash TV since 1995.   The negative images transwomen are battling in the 2K10's have some of their roots in the Springerized impressions of us that have been beamed into American living rooms for almost two decades.

How could anyone in their right mind think that "Hey, they want you to be on the Springer Show" could ever end up being a good thing?

The only person who comes off looking good on The Jerry Springer Show, is, Jerry Springer.

The first thing that came into my head when I saw this was 'Young black transwomen, don't go to a Klan rally!!' It should be that obvious really. If anyone is that desperate to be on television then at least become a criminal and end up on 'Dog the bounty hunter!' That's what I'm doing anyway

I've probably watched 5 mins of Jerry Springer shows. So I can't really comment. But I did read an article of Jerry Springer being interviewed.  He made the comment that he made the shows because that was what he was paid for. When asked if he would watch them, he said no, and he said he never watches them.

Enough said really.

So why do people watch such rubbish?

I looked it up, you can get a couple of hours of the Springer show here, that's 2 hours on one station out of 200 stations broadcasting 24 hours a day.  It's not like it's Sports Center or something.
