Pretty useful link I used, a simple table of shoe size conversions for both male and females in different countries. Made it really easy for me to convert from us male > us female.. and was VERY accurate when ordering my latest shoes.

pretty much, yeah. Been almost perfect for me.

The only thing to take into consideration is that a lot of the fancier looking womens' shoes (dressy types and a lot of low-ankle pairs) are meant to be worn with hosiery or foot liners, or no socks at all I guess. Bad idea to me.

And if you're buying boots, circumference of the calf is vitally important to check.

Of course, you must take into consideration your feet as far as width, and other features... But if nothing else for you this gives you a base to start off of.

Chelsea, thanks sweety.  I have not yet shopped for any women's clothing, apparel or shoes other than quickly grabbing a pair of those spandex type pants that end just below the knee, and have a single stripe up each side.  Turned out the pants were too big (wife says they make me look like a rapper, lol), but they still show off my butt and my legs.  I don't know *how* I'm going to maneuver my way into a women's shoe aisle and pick out something (AND TAKE IT TO THE CASH REGISTER), but I suppose I'll manage.

It explains how it is that my size UK 8.5 (male) feet fit so comfortably in size 8 ladies shoes.

Just do it honey. There's no law against nor any shame in shopping for clothes or shoes of either sex. On the whole shop assistants couldn't care less whether they are for you or someone else, especially if they are on commission, they are glad to make a sale. If you find it really embarrassing you can always mumble something like "Is it OK to return this item if it doesn't fit my (sister/girlfriend/wife/mother)?"

Thanks for posting this.   I am going to buy a pair of ballet flats and I didn't know how to convert from mens' to womens' sizes.    I think I'll order a size 10 even though I am according to the chart a size 9+1/2.   The broader male foot needs a larger size for the width.

I have notice Stephanie ballet flats are really making a come back, infact flat shoes in general are really in at the moment, comfy and more healthy for the feet, but try telling that to a man, hubby still prefers me in my heels when we are out on occasions, insists they look more elegant on my legs, maybe so, flat shoes are winning me over, maybe Im getting old.
