or so it seems. But then once we get over to the other side, we somehow again, look at the other side and think the same thing all over again. If we as peope continue to follow this self destructive cycle we will destroy ourselves......be thankful....and being thankful is a beautiful thing!!!!

I feel that way too someitimes but I look around me and see that I have much to be thankful for. Thinking about many times in my past I tell myself-THINGS COULD ALWAYS BE WORSE! Thinking like this helps keep me humble and focused on what is important.

I have been through some very tough things in my life - job loss, lengthy unemployment, having to sell a house for less than I had paid, heart trouble (nothing major, atrial fib), and a Veeerrryy interesting medical interlude 3 years ago involving almost bleeding to death and having my gallbladder out the very next week...

Anyway, I have NEVER had to look far to see others in worse straits than me, and I have NEVER lacked the ability to be thankful for what I do have.  I think that attitude has been what's gotten me this far.
