HAPPY! ...but sortof confused

hey!
today i had my appointment with my psycho(logist) and he finally gave me my bloodtest results (he had been hogging that for weeks now. i couldn't get an appointment with him and he didn't understand that i didn't get the results myself). he told me that i'd probably be able to already get a shot today. so there i went to the endo. The receptionist told me to wait for the endo, so he could write me a prescription and i could come right back to get my shot.
however he gave me a prescription for estradiol tablets. i asked why i was getting tablets and he answered that i should ask the pharmaceutical industry.
well about that i'll probably have to ask around here in germany. But to me it's feeling a bit more like he's trying to put me on a low dose.
i do apparently have my testosterone levels slightly below the lowest male norm, but that's still not female values. and i do also have a slightly high prolactin level, whatever that means.

and heck, he told me we should meet again in 3 or 6 months, but the estradiol he prescribed me is barely enough to last 2 month... do i really have to keep going there asking for a small slip of paper every 1 and a half months for the rest of my life??

so do you think i should be okay with what he prescribed me, or should i ... well i don't know what the alternatives could be... have a talk with him? find another endo?

follow the doctors orders
that dosage sounds just fine but he needs to figure you out first, we are not all the same

When I need a new prescription I just call my doctors nurse and tell her. She makes a prescription order and makes my doctor sign it. The prescription is faxed to my pharmacy and they call when it is ready. I do not have to go see them every time I need a new 'script. It is just estrogen not like they are dispensing morphiene.

Many time doctors begin you on a low dosage and ramp it up after blood test.  That was how my doctor did it.  They are also checking to make sure you tolerate the medications.

Also when my script needs to be rewritten the Pharmacy calls my doctor and they fax the new script.

I am surprised that you are not on an anti-androgen.

that's one thing i've been wondering about. can estradiol lower an already slightly low T level? i really expected that i'd get some anti-androgens

btw. is there any "best" moment to take the tablets? i'm thinking of taking them with my dinner

yes E alone can lower your T levels. Just most of us require an anti androgen.

When I was on pills I was told to take half in the morning and half in the evening, 12 hours apart. (I was on the same dose you posted before I reminded you to remove it.)

just as a matter of interest:  do our digestive systems work at same speed all day?  as in if it slows during sleep it might be better to take pills late at night?

The digestive system generally slow down as the body falls asleep.  Many systems do.  It is better to take medications 12 hours apart.  So if you take your morning ones at 8 AM, the evening ones would be taken at 8 PM, well before bed.  Unless you go to bed that early.

My doctor recommended I take all my medications in the morning.   Spiro can upset the stomach a bit and with it's diuretic effects, she said it'd be better to take in the morning so your not getting up at all hours of the night.  

The only thing I take in the evening is my Asthma medicine.

I'll second that advice to take spiro in the morning. Take it in the evening and you will be peeing all night long. I did for like a few days before I add'd 2+2. Not anymore. lol

good point on the spiro. i did read about that side-effect (or, well, main effect?) of it. but im not taking spiro, so i guess i don't need to worry about that.

anyway, i was all worried that it would take ages until i start feeling any effect (calmness i had hoped for, where art thou?) but i'm pretty sure my breasts didn't have this much fat on them, and my nipples weren't ever bothered with the roughness of my pyjama. sure it's just a tiny little change (is it even real or am i just imagining it?) but it's nice to know that my body seems to have readily accepted the new hormones

oh wow i'm really surprised at how effective this seems to be. I definitely didn't need to complain about the dosage
I mean, heck, i just looked at myself in my parents' big mirror, and i just can't stop grinning!

and today.... well, no i can't believe that he really saw a girl, but today at the airport an emplyee there looked at me and some old beardy guy and said "ladies first". Did he really mean me? do i already pass, while wearing my usual male clothes (but actually pretty unisex. hoody and jeans)? it's been, what? 5 days since i started? he was probably just joking, like friends sometimes do? but he isn't a friend... what's going oooon?

Taking HRT did something more than start the puberty process. It was a major step forward. A comitmant to transition if you will.
This act probably has opened up a floodgate.
People see a woman because thats what you are. You have soaked up a lifetime of watching the girls and learning from them. You should have a pretty complete set of female gender rules and expectations you have already built for yourself.
Chances are you are not policing your activitys and actions for those tell tale girl signs like you did pre HRT. Playing a male role, for a woman is alot of work. Now that you are opening your wings the desire to walk is not very strong...Wouldn't you say?
