Went out running tonight and it looks like I crossed another HRT milestone on the way. I happened to pass a man running the other way when I was startled to realize that I could smell him coming from about 10ft away. It was very distinct, clear, sorta sweet and kinda interesting. Oh boy, I knew this could happen, but I wasn't expecting it. I've also had some breast growth and increased sensitivity this week. That HRT is powerful stuff!
and i know that i'm never alone
and i know that my heart is my home
Every missing piece of me
I can find in a melody

welcome to the club
Your scent and pheremones should be signaling you are female now also.

(personaly i do not like man scent in most cases, luckily for Sevan I like hir scent)
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

ive never really noticed being able to smell men so distinctly while I still had girl hormones in my system

but I noticed that I smell like a man now :)

what did he smell like? musky?
  •

Melody Maia

It was a sweet, spicy, musky scent that I could just tell was uniquely his. I was so shocked that I could smell it that as he passed by I had the thought to turn and follow him to smell him some more. However, that would have been kind of creepy, not to mention it was dark and he was much bigger than me. Interesting experience.

I definitely have noticed the male scent myself! Sometimes, however that's not such a good thing... like when you can smell the men's room from outside the men's room with the door closed.

Anyway, I did start noticing men's scent and found it distracting at times ;)

I however LOVE the scent of my guy =] he's got that clean man smell that makes me crazy :D

Probably about a month in I began to notice the man scent.  At first it was a musky stall odor, at times almost a moldy smell.  Then it began to take on a sweeter musk scent.  Being Bi, I much prefer the scent of a woman.   ;)

But a guy will do in a pinch, if he smells good.  ::)

Yesterday (Xmas) I was on a little bus and then a group of African American men boarded... then not a few minutes later I noticed that an over powering smell was driving me crazy and in the most ecstatic kind of way :o

I don't know if it's the 'man smell' or just simply a fragrance one of them was wearing, but it smelled body-like, dense, tobacco-ish and a little leathery and that's the best way I can describe it. I actually didn't know what was happening to me, but it was kind of an extreme experience that I haven't had before, and I want to have it again!

Is this standard or am I a little freak?? :D

Yeah, mansmell.

The olfactory nerves are unique in that they are the only nerves that attach directly to the brain.  And as such can be very powerful triggers of emotion and memory.  That may be one of the reasons why our ancestors survived.

I was unprepared for the change in my physiology to be quite so sensitive to the scent of a man.  I think it may be one of the reasons for my latent heterosexuality to manifest itself.

I may have to give my toaster oven sign up bonus back to the lesbians.

But like a dog chasing a car, I have no idea what I would do with one if I caught one.  (Besides the obvious, of course!  :icon_redface: :icon_redface:)

I've yet to meet a man that I think smells nice it's either completely indifference or total urrrrrrrgh man stink of doom, a horrible bleachy chemical smell. I used smell like that...not dirty or bo, just man stink and I hated it. there's a good reason I used quite fragrant and often quite girly smelling shower supplies and soaps.

Isn't it crazy how HRT affects us this way? Prior to starting, I already found the scent of men attractive and I was kind of indifferent to the scent of women. After 2 months on HRT I was finding the scent of men distractingly attractive and found the scent of women to be really offensive/off-putting; but this makes sense, since I'm gay.  Also, I'm now way more sensitive to strong artificial scents, especially if they clash with a person's own body chemistry (some people wear colognes and perfumes that don't suit them, suddenly this is really vivid for me, ergh)

For some reason this whole concept of scents really excites me.   :embarrassed:  There happens to be this one new Old Spice deodorant some guys are wearing called Fiji, and it smells SOOOO good, like coconuts.  I swear I just want to eat them up when they walk by.

I can't remember exactly when it was, but it was within the first few months of taking estrogen that I started thinking that some men smelled rather...fine  :D
It definitely had to be fresh sweat though; stale sweat still smells pretty foul. After my fiancĂ© has been for a run I've been tempted to rub my face in his armpits  ;D

I've noticed the man smells (good and bad) on guys before... But it never really quite hit like it did today

I'm still not quite sure what it was... I could only catch a faint whiff of it here and there, but I wanted more

Luckily, you can't get arrested for "Man smelling"

I think it depends on how close you get to do the smelling!  :D

As an aside to man smell, I did notice a couple of days ago that my, uh, male-area, smells a lot more like I remember my wife smelling like in her girl-area. So yes, I think I probably do smell a lot more like a girl now. Kinda hard to tell since most people would probably not dare tell you that and I don't seem to be able to get a scent off of women at all anymore.
