I am going to start posting links to my blog articles that deal with offensive reporting on transgender issues. Your help is needed so please participate if you are able.

http://transgenderhate.blogspot.com/2011/01/shooing->-bleeped-<-hookers-off-stroll-new.html

We hear cops are about to get serious shooing the >-bleeped-< hookers off the stroll around St. James Park and regular "Bronx hostesses" from their usual stroll around Davidson Ave. and Kingsbridge Road - much to the relief of suffering homeowners.

What really is offensive is transsexuals breaking the law and being prostitutes. The tabloid name is the New York Daily News not to be confused with the New York Times. Being an old NY native knowing the whole formula of the Daily news is to get emotions going.  Why not protest porn sites as they are a little better quality emotional drivers.

Sadly, journalism today is taking a major dump. I don't care if this is just a freebie paper in a newsstand. We have these in Arizona--The New Times (Phoenix) and the Tucson Weekly. They are free papers filled with ads yet unlike the "real" newspapers (i.e. Arizona Republic or Arizona Daily Star) the grammar, verbiage, and content are terrible. The sad reality is that it is a domino effect where if the ignorant masses accept journalism like that, it will trickle up to the medium-level newspapers (such as the Republic or Star) and eventually the highly respected papers (NYT, USA Today, WSJ, etc.) will also have to lower their standards.

A high school English teacher should not even tolerate this let alone adults. I'll try re-writing it:

Some soures state that police officers may begin crackdowns to remove transgendered prostitutes away from the James Park area as well as the Bronx escorts often seen around Davidson Ave. and Kingsbridge Rd. - much to the relief of concerned homeowners.

My example is far less biased and far better writing skills. I have no college degree in writing of any kind. If I can do this, why can't a newspaper? Literacy and education in the U.S. are in critical trouble. Obviously I have a problem with the use of the word ">-bleeped-<" but I see a much larger issue here. The standards of journalism are just shy of bankruptcy.

It is pretty pathetic how these publications do not have competent editors or journalists to begin with. I used to work at a public high school (while I was attending the same school), and had a student come ask how much copies were. I said "There is the copy machine. Copies are a dime a piece." The student replied with, "How much can I get for a dollar?" I blame the schools.

As far as cracking down on transgender prostitutes, it's against the law, just as a cisgender person involved in prostitution should face the same thing.

I have no problem with them cracking down on prostitutes but have a big problem when they refer to transgender prostitutes as '>-bleeped-<'. And why only crack down on trans prostitutes?

Yeah, their language was bad - obviously not a great paper. Let's hope they crack down on all prostitutes.

It is a matter of police corruption and selective enforcement. Since most police appear macho they have a honor to uphold and traditional behavior they support. Do you think political laws are going to change personal beliefs?

Personally I'd like to get the police off of the streets. I don't see fire trucks driving around looking for fires or people who might start fires. They are public servants and therefore hold down the fort until a citizen calls them and then they come to their aid. Police on the other hand drive around ticketing and arresting citizens for things that should not even be crimes. In a crime where there is a victim and a citizen calls them by the time they show up either the citizen is dead, the criminal is gone, or the problem has already been resolved and the police are no longer needed. I realize this is generalizing a bit and there are police officers who do save lives and protect their communities. That aside, the police system is not about protecting and serving but about infringing on citizens' liberties in the disguise of safety and security.

I will make a comment about the meaning of 'alternative' and 'progressive' in my blog. Alternative media has failed in many respects.

Not in my country it isn't. There is nothing inherently illegal or wrong about prostitution. Many countries have legalised it. Time for the USA to get out of the Dark Ages and  follow suit.

The reason for different countries is different cultures. You probably do not want your neighbors carrying guns also. Let us praise the fact they we are different and proud of it. One world Government will never happen as long as there is diversity. Diversity is the only thing we have to ensure the survival of humanity. People can discriminate between right and wrong only in their own culture.

I don't know if you've ever had the experience of being a young transitioner with no established credit or skills, no family, and an M on you driver's license in a down economy. I think that most of these ladies are victims of a society that hartlessly shoves them into the gutter, only to have you spit on them.

QuoteDiversity is the only thing we have to ensure the survival of humanity.

The survival of humanity is over rated.  Humanity might not be such a waste if it could be wholly compassionate, free, fair, and equal for just one generation before it winks out of existence.

We need a way to invent zombie technology and bring Edward R. Murrow back.  The man was a journalistic hero.
