The physical effects of puberty didn't bother me as much as the way people reacted to me when I reached that age.  People were constantly hounding me about getting a girlfriend.  They were asking me which girls I liked, etc.

It was annoying as hell.  I didn't want to be with a girl, I wanted to BE  girl.

Ugh.  My aunt thinks I'm a lesbian because I don't bring boys home...I wonder what she'd tell the whole town if I told her that I'm a male identified androgyne and I generally consider myself a gay man (at least more than a straight woman)?  People need to leave the girlfriend/boyfriend questions alone and mind their own business.
If curiosity really killed the cat, I'd already be dead.
