Bi before, bi after, though always a dedicated monogamist. Wanted to mention that some studies have been done on women, as well as women on the pill. Studies done after women sniff male sweat and then correlating their descriptions of that sweat, that women reject men who have similar MHC genes as their fathers and male relatives, at least as mates. It is thought that it by mating with someone with different genes, you have stronger, more genetically diverse offspring. When women go on the pill, hormone based, they start to prefer men that have the same MHC genes as their fathers and male relatives. Perhaps the pill replicates a similar pattern to being pregnant. Dad and male relatives would provide a safe environment for the baby because it contains their genes and women seek this protection. It is thought that it can be a problem when a woman goes off the pill and now feels rejection toward her lover/husband because he has daddy's gene profile. Of course all this is taking place unconsciously. I realize that the example doesn't exactly fit, but it is well researched and demonstrates the power of hormones on unconscious lust and desires.
