Does facial feminization surgery make you look younger generally?

I've noticed those doing FFS look suddenly drastically younger and regress like by 10 years. Is this the case for everyone or is it just me who is wrongly perceiving. However I see those who have undergone facial surgery after a few years later start looking old and look even older than they were originally. I'm so confused whether to do it or not. I'm almost in my late 20's and I want to do it to look younger but if I do it, look young for 1-2 years then suddenly look older than I currently am, I better not.

For who did it, please enlighten me. Thanks.

It depends on what is done during the FFS. Brow lifts tend to make people look younger as they stretch out the skin and remove wrinkles, but jaw shaving/contouring generally doesn't do anything to make you look younger. The swelling after FFS also stretches the skin and makes people appear younger - while the swelling lasts.

Edit to add: apparently this post is 'intentionally inciting an argument'. I fail to see how.

It is a difficult question to answer when not being able to see your face.  Generally FFS is to make one look more feminine.  If the subject it older to begin with, the he will not look much younger, but will look more feminine..As the above, It all depends on what work your having done.  FFS can involve various procedures. ie: scalp advancement with forehead lift, jawline revision, chin, lip augmentation with space narrowing, brow brushing, eyelids, orbital bone.etc..It all depends..It is not an exact science.  Usually a patient will look younger in general.

I will be having ma facelift and FFS tweaks in Boston come the New Year...

I do expect to look better, than if not doing it....

So far all of my surgeries have resulted in physical improvements, albeit not immediately...

Do I regret any of them?

Not on yer Nelly....  :P

Seek and thou shalt find after all.....

Yes FFS does generally make people look younger. A lot of the procedures people have done as part of FFS are procedures that a natal woman would get to make herself look younger: Facelift, brow lift, cheek lift/implants, etc.

As far as looking older after a few years, It depends on how old the person is, and what they've had done. Certain procedures, for example cheek implants, can look horrible after a number of years... the face continues to age, and as the face loses fat, they can stick out and look odd. Check out recent pictures of Madonna, who looks like a skeleton due to those cheek implants and very little fat in her face (or on the rest of her body, for that matter).

I don't think any bone reduction procedures, like a rhinoplasty, chin/jaw reduction, etc. are going to make a person look any older. Most of the signs of aging in the face are due to soft tissue changes... sagging skin, fat loss, wrinkles, skin texture, things like that.

I've never seen that happen to anyone in their 20's, for instance, that's had FFS. Now if a person is in their 40's or 50's, they're going to look great initially, but then will start to look older after a few years because, well, they're aging normally...

Thats what I had done a few years ago. Combined  with my reconstructive surgery on my face this past summer. People still cant believe im 36 !! ;D My future husband is also younger looking , but he is just lucky, it runs in his family. I would probably look way older than him, without my various procedures.

You go in for your consultation.  The surgeon makes recommendations which may include rejuvenation procedures, such as face and neck lift.  Obviously in that situation the youthful look is intentional.  It all depends on the procedures you have.  While you are under (and if you have the money) you might as well have done whatever will help you achieve a more feminine face.  So a lot of girls

Taking a male face and make it look more feminine will result in a younger look.  Many MTFs get a more youthful look just from hormones.  But it depends a lot on your age too.  You won't see the same amount of rejuvenation in a 20 year old as you would in a 50 year old.
When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself.

Ironically, hormones made me look my age; my male face was riddled with acne and couldn't grow facial hair - I looked an awkwardly perpetual 18 years old. After hormones, the acne vanished and people stopped asking me for ID when buying alcohol.

Depends what you have done and the skill of the surgeon. I had FFS nearly 2 years ago by Dr Zukowski in Chicago and I can honestly say that aside from making me look more feminine it's knocked about 15 years off my age. People are genuinely surprised when I tell them my age. I'm definately a happy bunny and very very satisfied with Dr Z's handywork.
