Yep.
Mine tried to give me a pill to thin my body hair out and stop more of it from growing. She didn't seem bothered by me not wanting it. She just said to let her know if I want to give it a try in the future.

I am secretly jealous of you PCOS folk. Though, my not trans friend has it, and I do feel bad for her.. Still jealous of her though because she has more arm hair than I do, which sucks XD;

I have however heard a lot of guys here on Susan's say that they have PCOS. So I suspect this thread will be filled with posts soon lol!

Yes, and same here.  My doctor kept trying to get me to take birth control to... regulate things, and to raise my estrogen and lower my testosterone.  She tried that for months, until I finally just came out to her because I felt bad for her confusion at my refusal.  She still recommends it though, to prevent cancer.  (Although I secretly wish I'd get something to go wrong with those parts so I could get them removed and have insurance cover it...)

I think so but it hasn't been confirmed yet but should be soon. I had some blood tests pre t that said my testosterone levels were too high so my endo wants me to have an ultrasound of my ovaries.

I'm pretty sure I have PCOS.  I definitely have cysts on my ovaries (doc felt them), and it would explain the fuzz on my face and the happy trail that's been coming in this past year.  Because some of the cysts I have get really large and cause pain though, it's not a beneficial thing for me.  I'm actually hoping T will help with my endometriosis/large cyst problems because all the female hormone 'solutions' just made things worse.

Well, the suckers are huge. She's pretty certain that one on my right ovary has caused the whole ovary to twist in the past, which made me extremely sick.  I'm supposed to have it confirmed via ultrasound next week, but I'm probably going to cancel since the word 'trans-vaginal' makes me feel vaguely nauseous and my doctor has said that she'll only do 'exploratory surgery' at this point anyways since I needs babies apparently.   I'm trying to get into the gyno who does FTM hysterectomies in my city instead currently.

Never big enough to twist an ovary. Good Lord, I think you should get checked out by another Dr ASAP. There are ligaments that are supposed to keep your ovary where it should be.

Well to be fair, the exploratory surgery was to look for endometriosis as well.   I've been in misery for a long time and everything they've tried for me has failed.  From a transition point of view, I don't see why I should undergo laparoscopic surgery just to officially diagnose and zap some tissue that I want out anyways, especially since it'll have me out of work for a month.  If I'm going to be incapacitated, I want those organs gone.  As for the torsion, it's actually not that uncommon with large cysts and people with PCOS.  Not fatal though, worst case scenario, the blood supply to the ovary is cut off and the ovary dies.  I wouldn't cry. XD

Yep, I do - the ultrasound missed it, although it did catch a bigger cyst on the other ovary. Got an MRI to make sure it wasn't cancerous, but instead it caught not only the PCO, but also a couple of other problems that had the doc looking at me and saying I'd be better off getting the whole lot removed

No idea how long I've had it, though. AFAIK I've always had hairy arms and legs - I used to hate it when trying to fit in as female, and got prescribed Dianette once to thin out the body hair. Did the trick, although I was terrified it'd affect me in other ways. Might've been for that reason I stopped it, can't remember now.

Yeah, from what I've heard a lot of us on here have it.  My mother's been trying to get me to go in for laser hair removal for years.

My doctor thought I had it, because I have quite a few symptoms (including the hairiness) but when she tested my hormone levels, my T levels were actually kind of low.  She did have an ultrasound ordered and they found a huge cyst on the left ovary, bigger than the ovary itself.  I think there's more of them, I get a sharp pinching feeling every now and then from one side or the other.  The ultrasound also showed the uterine lining to be an inch thick, about 2 or 3 times what's normal.  My doc wants me to get a D&C done, but I'm hoping to find an obgyn who'll agree to have the whole mess taken out.

You don't get PCOS from being on T.

From what I've heard, the main issue is that if you have PCOS, T may cause it to worsen or, combined with already elevated T levels, lead to other health issues.  I don't think that it can cause PCOS, though.

I had really bad PCOS...I could grow a beard pre-T.  not peach fuzz either, legit dark thick scratchy stubble.  not that I minded.  Even with long hair and not binding, I got mistaken for a guy probably 80% of the time.

I've wondered about this from time to time.

My S.O has PCOS with pics from ultrasounds. She's currently taking medication for (Metformin) it and with luck she wont have to have any drastic measures (in her words) taken because of it. Her family is prone to this and I've seen some horrible things because of it (though her doc says a hysterectomy would end up being the next step if pain management and weight loss doesn't help).

I have PCOS and am currently taking metformin for it. I also just started taking birth control pills as that will help with the awful PMS symptoms I get. I wish I wasn't taking it but am nowhere near close to starting T and I can't deal with the awful PMS anymore.
