Ryno

As the title says, my name is Ryan. I'm a female-to-male transgender person. I'm just coming out, so I haven't started hormone therapy nor had any SRS. So far I've told my girlfriend, roommates, and a few close friends and have encountered only one friend who's convinced I'm making a huge mistake... strangely enough she happens to be the biggest GLBT activist and lesbian I know, but no one is perfect.

The transition is going alright. My work hires only female cashiers and male grocery staff, so naturally every customer I get assumes I'm a woman. Outside of work however I'm pretty sure I'm passing well as a 12- to 14-year-old boy. Which is fine with me, I suppose I missed out on those awesome pre-pubescent boyhood years. I may as well play a quick catch-up and be a little childish for a bit :)

Regardless, I can't wait to go on testosterone. I've always wanted some nice facial hair and a deep voice. I've always been jealous of men for that, even as a kid learning that boys get deep voices and girls get breasts and a menstrual cycle. I've always built muscle really fast too, so when I go on T I'll have one hot bod ;D

So that's basically me. It's nice to see a whole forum dedicated to the T of GLBT.

Hi Ryan, welcome to the forum! I'm pretty new myself, but I hope you have a nice time here!

I love your name, Ryan has a strong potential. And I'm sure you will be pleased as soon as you start T, changes happen very soon and you will notice a very encouraging transformation of yourself. You will find yourself more energetic and happy with your own body. The deep voice and hair depends on genetics of course but you won't avoid the huge smile in your face each morning when you wake up, walk to the mirror and say "I should shave today..."  :)

Welcome!

Thanks, it took me a while to settle on a name. Finally Ryan just kind of smacked me in the face one night, so I turned to my girlfriend and asked what she thought.

But as far as genetics go ... my dad and brother are pretty scruffy guys, and so are my mom's brothers. Hell, I have some mad body and facial hair for girl anyway. I think my voice is a bit lower than my brother's too even though I've never had testosterone treatment. So I imagine that will change quite nicely :)

Whoo! I can't wait for my first shave :)

Yes I like the name "Ryan" too

Welcome to Susan's Ryan. It sounds like life is on track for you, that great! It's funny what ftm wish for and what mtf wish for. I wish there was simply a place where we could go to exchange the things we don't want for those that we do want. Anyway, I am glad you are here at Susan's. Look forward to more of your posts.

  Hugs, Roxy

I still haven't picked a name for myself yet ... working on it .. guess after 40 years of being called Robyn I have gotten use to it ... but I definitely want a new name

I know what you mean. My name was Eric. The easiest thing would have simply been to add an "a" to the end of it and take the name Erica. But that wouldn't  due. My brothers teased me when I was young and called me that. So I grew to resent hearing it. And besides after 47 years I am simply tried of it, it wasn't me anyway.
